P T Preece
I think you could cut the crowd by 2000 for the next meeting, you always get the "got to be there for the first meeting" supporters and hangers on for the first one and then it starts to drop off, hopefully they will have a good season and be able to keep there crowd level at 2000 per meeting. bri1966
Was at Leicester for the Newcastle match stood on back sraight hardly see a thing unless you get right at the front. If you go to the fours take a box to stand on Another thing the riders are hidden away in the pits the kids and the big kids like to watch what goes on in the pits Apart from that very good set up Good luck Leicester on fours day Edited April 17, 2011 by bri1966

davidba
Is the start time for this known yet? Â Â Ok i've found that it starts at 5pm, is it right that it's 28 heats in all? If so should i allow more than 3 hours for the meeting going on previous finals? Gotta decide which train to book home?

Paulco
Does anyone know when the draw is being made for the Fours? I heard a whisper the other day that it was meant to be this week? If so, does this mean it's worked out with averages from July 1st, to see who the best 8 top 4 are? Â If it is worked out like this, then by my calculations we can expect the following teams, in order of highest averages first... Â 1 Redcar 2 Sheffield 3 Workington 4 Edinburgh 5 Newcastle 6 Somerset 7 Newport 8 Leicester (Qualifying as hosts!) They've nicked Glasgow's spot !!!! Â IMO this draw should be made Live on Sky Sports this coming Monday at King's Lynn at the Interval, which will be seen by a big audience there and on TV and give the event an even bigger publicity plug. Â The easiest way to draw the 2 Semi's, would be to put Redcar and Sheffield in 2 separate Semi's and then put 6 balls in to a bag numbered 1-6 and then start with Workington and work down. Ball number 1 puts you in 1st Semi and ball number 2 puts you in 2nd semi etc etc. Before each ball is pulled out, they say which team they are drawing for. It's so simple, but I can't see this happening because it's exactly that, too easy!!! Â Or they could just have the names folded up and then do whoever comes out first goes in 1st Semi and whoever comes out 2nd goes in the 2nd Semi and 3rd team drawn out in to 1st semi etc etc. Missing out would be... Â Berwick Glasgow Ipswich Plymouth Rye House Scunthorpe Really not that bothered whether we're in it or not . If we are then we'll have a coachload down , but if we're not we wont . It's pretty much a novelty event anyway , without the qualifiers it's just an invitational open meeting .

Paulco
how embarrasing that teams sitting 11+12 could be in and teams 2+5th may not we will watch this space!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last year we weren't allowed to use Joe Screen as he wasn't signed in time , although he was signed by the beginning of July . Will the BSPA force this year's hosts to go into the meeting without Kauko Neiminen and Henning Bager ? just a thought .
SCB
how embarrasing that teams sitting 11+12 could be in and teams 2+5th may not we will watch this space!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whats that got to do with anyway? In footballing terms, the team who won the League Cup were relegated to the Championship. It's the team with the best top 4's that qualify. The BSPA have got this one right.

Whoever was left out it would be the wrong decision. Â Â how embarrasing that teams sitting 11+12 could be in and teams 2+5th may not we will watch this space!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Â The 4TT is about your top 4, not 7. Had you been bottom of the league but your top 4 got you into the 4s would you say you shouldn't be in it as your top 7 isn't good enough? I'm sure you would... Lioness
this shows how badly organised league is as best team at moment(GLASGOW) DONT QUALIFY JOKE JOKE JOKE Â Wrong. Â The only 'joke' is that we dont know in advance the qualifying criteria - that should be public well before the event. IF Glasgow dont qualify under pre-known qualifying criteria (as opposed to last minute made up to suit as it was last year) then thems the breaks. Someone has to miss out and there has to be a way of deciding it as the southern softies continue to block any re introduction of the qualifiers

lucifer sam
No they haven't , just getting the retaliation in first  Paul - given the date of the fours (August 7th), I would expect July 23rd to taken as the cut-off for the averages. And, of course, Richard Sweetman will have an average, since both meetings for Leicester and Glasgow counts towards his Green Sheet average. So I can't see how the Tigers will fail to qualify.  I'm still confused how some people have worked out the qualifiers, when: (1) the likely cut-off point for the averages hasn't even been reached yet. (2) We don't know whether averages or league placings determine the finalists (I would suggest the latter makes much more sense, since averages always produce strange anomalies).  EDIT: I agree it's hight time to bring down the fours qualifiers. I used to really enjoy these meetings. Mind you, it would make it much more boring on here, since there wouldn't be the arguments as to who's in and who's out!!  All the best Rob Edited July 10, 2011 by lucifer sam
Diceyccfc1966
Yes I agree let's bring back the qualifiers. It's the fairest way,but hoping the earlier prediction is right and Newport get a crack at the 4's

P T Preece
I think it should be the top seven in the league by a certain date and the Lions as they are hosts, seems fair to me. Got to agree used to like the qualifying rounds, me and my Brother went up north a couple of times in the eighties so that we could get all the northern tracks in, damn good time and 4 tracks in as many days, happy days. It's the team with the best top 4's that qualify. The BSPA have got this one right. Think BSPA will never please everyone on this, correct. They have to set a guideline and I think it will be combined averages from 1 July of each team top 4 added together? Dont think assessed averages etc count either so that rules out a few riders.
