speedibee
Keep laughing as the joke is on you. Paranoia is a very dangerous thing and makes some people say stupid things, like what you have just implied. Playing a victim again. paranoia is not as bad as Schizophrenia . you know the mental disorder where one person has two identities .
squall
Magnus has also been passing people with ease as well. Magnus couldn't pass people round the best race track in the country, yet does it with ease round the best gaters paradise?
Gemini
One thing's for sure though, it'll be muddy on the spectators' side of the fence regardless of how much work they do to make the track raceable. I've asked this before but I'll try again. Why can't they just put something like woodchip down? Surely it's not that expensive and would tide things over until something more permanent can be done during the Winter. The last time I went it was awful underfoot and I don't suppose it will have got any better with the rain we've had lately.
wandersome
"Plenty" is a difficult word to quantify, but I stand by what I said, it's been better the last couple of weeks. I agree with your observation on Nieminen passing Proctor. To say Magnus has passed opponents "with ease" implies he's been sizing them up and pulling off amazing passes, when it really hasn't been like that. Magnus has done almost all of his scoring from the gate and certainly within the first half lap. by "with ease" i'm not implying he's sizing them up and pulling off amazing passes but he has gone by numerous people off the first bend by not bottling it and shutting it off and riding with a bit of guile. As much as i like the style of Rich Hall (and to a lesser extent the same could be said of Matt Tres) his throwing it all at the bend style didn't suite or work at BP and he didn't appear to have had a plan B however obvious it was that plan A wasn't working. To me, Hall was infuriating at times with his inability to try anything else but the 'big one', so to speak. Mick. 40-38
Slightly off topic query to all those who talk about the track not being conductive to passing. Being only fairly young I'm wondering if the track would suit the old upright bikes and more throttle control riding as opposed to the way laydown bikes seem to ride ovals in a diamond type shape? Perhaps someone who knows could give me an idea whether it really was that much different.

So why can't you have the good grace to just do as I asked . I'm not asking Phil for anything I dont keep running to the Mods reporting people like you do. I agree, and it's worse when you've you got 2 young kids who cant stand still on it! I think my 7 year old had so much clay on his wellies last time he ended up as tall as me seriously, i mentioned it the first time it was an issue and my view hasn't changed. My belief is unless it's resolved it's the thing that will put people off permanently from parting with their entrance fees. As you mention, something should be done to at least temporarily solve the matter until a permanent solution is found. I dread to think what the fun fair will be like outside the stadium! Mick. Perhaps someone who knows could give me an idea whether it really was that much different. Laydowns pull a lot harder than uprights , and to get the best from them they need to be going straight , so from the straight head for a point mid turn and go straight = fastest route to that point . turn as hard as possible aim for the fence on the straight go straight = fastest route to that point . thats why it appears to be riding a diamond shape , tracks that provided great racing in the days of uprights still provide the best racing today . so if the track is good , the riders will adapt to it whatever the bikes they are using. bigcatdiary
I went to Peterborough once for the Fours, it was a dustbowl and apart from one or two races it was 32 strung out heats, the car park was basically just a field and I seem to remember that barring the grandstand there wasn't much else in the way of facilities either. You clearly havent been recently as the track was widened many years ago and the car park is now one of the best in the country. As for the Grandstand, its old but spacious, comfortable and its free to all supporters. As for facilities I dont think Peterborough is missing anything As for the racing Bob Rawlings says in the star this week its the best and I wouldnt argue with him. Perhaps if or when Hemsley widens Leicester in the winter that might improve it.
bigcatdiary
U ain't seen track last couple of weeks then? Two cracking race meetings as the Newport fans on here they thought so:-) I went to the recent Ipswich meeting there for the first time the other week and the racing was about at good as the timekeeping and for the record 2 good races out of 15 doesnt make a race track. davidba
It's quite a way from the station to Beaumont about 5 miles (guess ) the taxi would probably be the best option ,although it's more expensive it will be worth it as the bus station is quite a way off the train station and the bus Journey would be difficult for someone with little local knowledge . Cheers!Any idea how much a taxi might be?
