Is Hefenbrock fit? Really? When did he last ride for Somerset? If they changes the declared line up & he breaks down physically on Friday who will be responsible for THAT farce? Christ, isn't there enough bleating from those supporters whose team's didn't qualify?

Hefenbrock has declared himself fit and will be back riding tomorrow (Friday). If any of the riders now declared to take part in any team are injured before the event, their team doesn't ride with 3 riders, but the next in the team averages takes their place, or didn't you know that. Hefenbrock has indicated he would be back soon and was a possibility to return last week but decided to give it another week to make sure. If the Somerset management had declared Hefenbrock for the 4's and he was not fit on the day then the next in the Somerset averages would take his place, it would be a win win situation. As it stands unless there are some hidden rules I have not seen, Somerset have shot themselves in the foot.

Cov will have fun trying to race round the houses and Bungalows in the cul-de-sac and stopping at the traffic lights and the newspaper shop. LOL!

And the spectators will be standing on mud banks ,that a local aggregate company paid Sandhu to tip there ,and then he will have the cheek to claim he invested his life savings in the new venture.and all the blind faithful will hail him as a hero.

who decides 5pm ? ridiculous making it a late night home for most fans / riders

I think given that early afternoon meetings traditionally see lots of track problems if it's hot and dry it's a fairly sensible time. I went to the Fours at Peterborough in '07 and spent most of the afternoon getting dusted with more shale than the riders. Same with Steve Johnston's testimonial at Coventry as well, that was horrendously dusty and started in the early afternoon.

You grabbed Holder from Poole for next season then

And you told me you knew nothing about football

All this talk of mud banks it's just a ploy to sell merchandise

Wind yer neck in, dearie.....

So that'll be NOT fit at the cut off date. Or indeed in a declared 1-7 for Somerset.

Fully aware thanks - and there's five in a team, but I guess cider-drinkers can't count that far, what with only having four fingers 'n all....

Hefenbrock has indicated he would be back soon and was a possibility to return last week but decided to give it another week to make sure.

So what? He's not in the declared team - it's not a case of who MIGHT BE, GOING TO BE, HOPES TO BE, or EXPECTS TO BE.

McGowan, Mellgren, Haines, Masters, Gathercole, Davies, Holder. That's the declared Somerset team on 1/7/11. Explain exactly how Somerset would have declared Hefenbrock in their team for the 4s. Still nothing like a speedway fan for knowing for than the promoters.

With regards to tickets for the 4TT, I have just rang to order one, but the lad said they are now only available on the day, and in his words "We do have a few left!!!!!!"

There are going to be a lot of unhappy people going down on the day, and being locked out.

So if you haven't already got a ticket, the ticket office will be open at 10.30am on Sunday 6th August!

WTF is going on???

If I remember rightly they were selling advanced tickets on Tuesday 10-4 via the phone and stadium and also from 2-8pm yesterday the same, otherwise it's on the gate.

NOT being 'picky' but Sunday is the 7th, so I presume it is still the Sunday (or did you mean Saturday 6th).

God knows what's going on? I received my tickets in the post today. When I spoke to a woman on the phone on Wednesday, she said that the booking line 0116 235 0082 would also be open yesterday 2pm-8pm, also next tuesday (2nd) from 10am - 4pm and also next Thursday (4th) from 2pm - 8pm, with any remaining tickets being available on the day, so god knows whats happened now?!

Also i asked for 2 Free child tickets and was told they don't send out tickets for the free children and just to turn up with them. So what happens if there's arounbd 1,000 children under the age of 11 turn up, are some of them going to be turned away? I don't think so. So to me the need of having to get our tickets early, wasn't really needed!!

Let's face it, if Leicester have their say 2000 crowd and you then say 200 x 7 = 1400 for the other 7 clubs competing and you also add in around 300 neutrals from other tracks, then that's 3,700 and the capacity is 4500, i've been told and of those 7 other teams, I can't see them all bringing 200 fans along!

David Hoggart one of the the coordinators for the Super 7 series has given an explanation for the qualifying criteria, it is apparently the same as used last year. At the agreed cut off date 1st July averages, those riders who had ridden 8 or more meetings for their current club, and are not ranked as long term injured, are ranked by average. Taking Newcastle as an example Mark Lemon could not confirm that he was not long term injured, so it was agreed with George English that they could not include him in their calculations. I assume therefore in the case of Hefenbrock and Somerset, Hefenbrock could not confirm on 1st July that he was not long term injured. (info taken from Speedway Star)

It would have been good PR if some official could have posted the qualifying criteria in advance for all to see. The current criteria does not allow the best 4 riders to turn up on the day, I can understand if riders have to be named in publicity before the event, but I don't think this is the case. Surely clubs should be able to put their top four available on the day not the top four availabe over a month before the event.

You say there are 5 in a team (one a reserve) who's the reserve, the rules state rider must have done 8 or more matches for their club.Haines has been dropped, Mellgren had not done 8 matches on 1st July and I'm fairly sure Davies had only his 7th match on 1st July, and Dakota is long term injured.

So professional

sorry squall but think you're wrong here, The promotion are most likely expecting a high volume of ticket sales over the weekend and as such are waiting to see if the quantities remaining are worth opening the phone lines for.. just my opinion of course
