crazysue
Sorry I didn't pick up your message Steeplejack....I unfortunately tried to relive my younger days and climb over a sea wall barrier late afternoon, not really a very good idea as I may have been able to get over the barrier but movement afterwards was slightly errr, difficult. So I didn't get back to my home until almost 9 last night. Apologies to all those I let down due to my own stupidity and denial. dukes
It is great to see scores, but who was riding for who? Not so professional and we need in light of the BSPA fiasco to enlighten the public that we can do and provide a professional service

You out of all people need not to apologise to me or anyone on here with the excellent job you do to keep the speedway world info on what is going on. As you can see I need some help if I need to relate in the future. Edited April 3, 2011 by Steeplejack

Not so professional and we need in light of the BSPA fiasco to enlighten the public that we can do and provide a professional service I'm laughing at the moment and I really don't know why. Last night I was just trying to help in the best way I could. I'm not professional and don't plan to train to be one. I was not and do not in the future expect a pat on the back for sending in any results. I laid out, not very well I'll agree, the riders and thought the Danish sounding names with the brits mingled would be taken for the Vikings and the other by exclusion ( or is it disclusion now?) would be taken as the Potters, sorry for any confusion. This is a forum right?.
crazysue
It is great to see scores, but who was riding for who? Not so professional and we need in light of the BSPA fiasco to enlighten the public that we can do and provide a professional service The scores provided were provided by a fellow fan off his own back and with no experience of what was needed, due to my not picking up his message, they were not provided by Speedway Updates. Yes, it was unprofessional of me to be stubborn and try something I really shouldn't be doing but Steeplejack should be thanked for trying to plug the gap rather than being told off. We at Speedway Updates do try to be as professional as we can be but it must be remembered, we are only fans the same as everyone else and at times, life or personal bias gets in the way. We do not get paid (apart from a small contribution via the sponsors, a drop in the ocean compared to the real costs - covering the Aussie meetings alone during the winter cost me personally nearly £100) and we rely on people going to the tracks and their goodwill in texting, usually something which hinders their enjoyment for an activity they have paid to watch. We are not affiliated in any way with the BSPA, any of the tracks or Sky....we are just fans trying to keep other fans in the know by whatever means we can...and sometimes, like this meeting, we drop the ball and someone else has to rescue the situation. Given that everything is voluntary on her behalf and both texters from the circuits and updaters I personally think your comments are totally out of order! Swift Saint
I once sent a heat result to the local Chinese takeaway.. I once ordered the Manager with fried rice when I got confused by a Chinese Restaraunt menu. Seriously, I think the updates service is an excellent feature that we can all enjoy and I would like to thank all those who have a hand in ot expecially Sue of course. It is fantastic to have omgoing scores and also an easy reference for Team Managers to look at previous fixtures etc. My very grateful thanks to all of you. ChubbyChesgire
I enjoyed the meeting, I thought the Potters gelled well. Andersen for Team Viking was awesome. But ride of the night goes to Garrity screaming round the outside from 4th to 2nd for a 5-1 - brilliant ! Chublin loved his trip to the pits, particularly as all the riders took time to chat with him, and Garrity let him sit on his bike (I lost the photo I took much to his annoyance !). It was good to meet Mal too. Am looking forward to my next trip - sadly looks like it won't be Dudley on Saturday - but I'm working on it !
