Backless
Any documentary proof to suggest this campaign is anything other than a figment of your imagination? News of how the campaign is progressing? Very easy to be hard-nosed and cynical. I dare say plenty (especially on this Forum where negativity is the norm...) were so about Speedway returning to Leicester... After ALL those years, no-one will be interested, it'll never happen etc.: I'm sure all of that was trotted out. But I was at Beaumont Park on Saturday along with 4,500 others to witness a brilliant new stadium staging our sport to rapturous acclaim... Can the same thing happen in East London (or indeed anywhere else in the capital..)? Well it may not but it certainly won't if people don't try.. No-one believed for a second Wimbledon could reopen, but it did... A bigger challenge still for the 'Hackney' project but if south-east and London based supporters don't support it all that will do is widen the odds still further of it coming off... My experience of Rye House people on here (and often in the flesh) is that they love nothing better than slagging everything off... A simple "No" would have sufficed. So who's trying, and what are they trying (apart from Uncle Len having a nostalgic trip in his dotage - or has Arthur Daley been in touch with a lock up full of hookey Hackney memorabilia & THAT's where the scheme started? Exactly, in real, tangible terms, what is "it" that south-east and London based supporters may or may not decide to support? Leicester is a ball that's been rolling for years as opposed to an old man's sepia tinged exploitation to boost his pension.

Not sure where you get this idea from that this was all Len Silver's doing. Sure he's agreed to co-host but the decision to re-launch a Hackney Hawks team was NOT essentially Uncle Len's idea... And why so angry about this..? If it is just an attempt to get bigger crowds attending NL racing at these two venues, then also what on earth is wrong with that..?! kingslynn-2008
Couldn't agree more Every point is correct Not sure about parsloes comments as i can see no flaw in what you are saying ...quite the reverse the regulars at Rye will give the hackney meetings a wide berth. I will go to see this one just to get another look at Ronnie Correy Eddie Castro and Shawn McConnell. After that it's off the Eastbourne for me if they are riding on Future hackney dates at rye. Ridiculously expensive for what it is Blimey looking at there line up i thought the dream team was about bringing young ones on, may as well put in billy hamill, josh larson, and dukie ermolenko i remember when they first come over they where all young riders just my opinion. Danielle, admittedly some of our tour members are slightly older than Colin Pratt , but that is due to the commitments of the USA Under 21 squad. But we are lucky to have Joey Holt and Dylan Black both new to the squad, along with Mikey Buman back for his 2nd tour. Its going to be a great meeting. See you there I hope. Parsloes,do you ever have an opinion other than the one that is brown and on the end of your nose by any chance?... Was looking forward to see Ronnie Correy mainly for this fixture, won't lie, I'm still pretty sure i'll be attending as it's always good to see the Americans race, however I'm not sure how many other Hawks meetings I will attend this season. Is it due to the team being a Hackney side rather than Rye House? No, it's because £12 is far too expensive for the product on offer i'm sad to say. Parsloes 1928 nearly
Parsloes,do you ever have an opinion other than the one that is brown and on the end of your nose by any chance?... Hmm, not sure I can in truth ever really be accused of brown-nosing the sainted Mr. Silver... Most of the time I've kinda been in a rival camp..!! My only 'crime' is being passionate about Speedway returning to London - a kind of indefinite place that is, in Speedway terms, within the boundaries of the M25... If people DON'T want such a thing (and let's be honest at least 70% at least of the peculiar breed who post on the BSF seem not to...) then I'm afraid you'll have to shoot me!! Doesn't that comment apply to MOST products you buy nowadays??? Surely in your capacity of a "senior auditor" you, more than most, should accept that? For example what sort of fees do auditors charge nowadays? Edited April 6, 2011 by Bryn

Depends on the product Maybe i should of worded my point better what i meant is when people are parting with there hard earned money (very hard in my case) they will want value for it and with all due respect to the national league if elite league are only charging £2 more for some of the best riders around then in my opnion the hawks will struggle to draw much of a crowd. Bryn
....... in my opnion the hawks will struggle to draw much of a crowd. Come along to Rye House on Saturday and see for yourself then.... I'll bet you a quid (only a quid merely because money is obviously tight in the auditing game! ) that you'll be very pleasantly surprised at the size of the attendance AND the quality of the racing! See you there! Bryn
