frostylion
Cameron Heeps has got British Grandparents, so should qualify on 3.00 if that the case he needs to claim Patriality i think, which, according to the link to the Borders agency website you have to be 17 years old

aljack
I think the move by the Mildenhall promoters to off load Oliver Rayson, is a very good move. He will never make the grade above a national league reserve/2nd string, as he has a very awkward style that will hold him back Whereas Halsey and Blackbird are a different kettle of fish and might well progress into the Witches side sometime in the future So good luck to the 2 new lads and welcome aboard the happy ship that is Mildenhall Fen Tigers

SimonB
I doubt many would agree with your assessment. Oli is an outstanding prospect. I for one don't agree. Rayson showed real talent at Mildenhall last season and was improving week on week. Dropping him was a bad move in my opinion particularly after he had been presented to the fans as a tigers rider already.
montie
That's to do with working/living in the UK, I'm not sure as he is 15 that would be applicable. thats a good point SG but i think that if he was here riding it maybe classed as working/living in the uk but im not sure though If someone is born in a c`wealth country like Australia, with british parent/grand parent does that instantly make them dual passport holders?? SimonB
No disrespect to Jack Hargreaves but I would have rather have seen the team look like this, if it had ever been possible - Brundle Evans Jacobs Halsey Rayson Heeps Blackbird That team would be seriously challenging, as will the existing team I am sure if Jack can produce the quality racing that he is no doubt capable of. I cant really get the last time he rode at MIldenhall out of my head though!

There is a big section on british citizenship & a section for applying for it if under 18, theres a lot more criteria governing this area as a raft of ammendments have been made to the original relevant legislation. My understanding with regards to citizenship is that it would automatically be passed on one generation if born abroad (by descent). Then anybody subsequently born abroad below the age of 18 can apply for british citzenship, under certain specific criteria. They would subsequently have to re-apply as an adult. Think its most likely application was made this way rather than through work/living visa. (which they can also apply for if they have british ancestry, but i think that is if they havent applied for british citizenship) Edited March 28, 2011 by shirlmeister general

Post moderated Im sorry if Ive offended you Ollies dad but Im speaking as a Mildenhall speedway fan and not as a father. My opinion is based on exactly what Ive witnessed on the track and in my opinion Ollie is a nice lad with an awkward style. The 2 riders brought in (in my humble opinion) are better and more likely to make the progress needed to step up. Obviously you wont agree but would not have expected anything else from his dad

I cant really get the last time he rode at MIldenhall out of my head though! Not possible I am afraid, young Mr Evans being a man of his word and having given verbal agreement to Hackney before Mildenhall were declared as running he was unlikely to change it The comparison between Rayson and Halsey is interesting. Rayson has just turned 18, was an Ipswich asset and has improved his average year on year since riding in the NL. Halsey is 5 years older, had to be bought from Poole and his average has decreased year on year since he first rode for Rye House in 2005 (according to the Mildenhall website anyway). Having said that, I thought Halsey was very impressive at Weymouth at the back end of last season and I'd have had them both. As to Oliver's riding style, I have yet to see a six foot rider who doesn't look awkward. I, too would have Evans over Jack Hargreaves but with that ruled out I'd have had Mark Baseby. Baseby knows Mildenhall, has also improved his average year on year in the NL and is still young. Whatever happened with Hargreaves before (and I, too, have difficulty getting that meeting or, more accurately, the appalling phone call we had on the Monday after out of my head) he's been out of the sport for over two years and I don't think anyone would dispute that on 8.30 he is a gamble. Mildenhall took a similar risk in 2009 and it backfired spectacularly; I hope it doesn't again. Obviously I too would have chosen Mark and its pathetic that he doesnt have a team place this season but he's keeping fit and getting plenty of laps in to keep sharp and who knows the Fen Tigers may still have a Baseby in their starting lineup, in Aaron. With regards to Jack and the events that took place on his last visit, I am sure it will be difficult for anyone who was there forget it, I know I never will, but everyone has to give Jack a chance. On 8.30 it is a risk but hopefully for the Fen Tigers fans he will show that he can ride West Row and will be back to his best. With regards to Ollie, Ipswitch and Mildenhall are his past, Kings Lynn are now his future and I am sure he will improve again this season. Post moderated At least Oli has a place, with the points limit coming down, there are a fair few riders who find themselves out in the cold at the moment. I do feel for you and him and hope he goes onto to do well for kings lynn there certainly seems to be alot of positive comments on the Kings Lynn thread. I'm not sure that these public rantings are terribly helpful to the sport particularly NL who are fighting for every spectator and the spectators are entitled to their opinion somrtimes its not easy to read.If it upsets you that much maybe stay away from the forum. Keep plugging away and I'm sure you will both get there in the end.

Its not as you say "rantings" but just comments on whats happening at Mildenhall without a vested interest. My opinion is, these could be great times for Mildenhall after several years of under achieving with a great new management team. If this mean changes so be it but obviously not all are going to be happy with them especially if their not part of the new set-up. So very good luck to the 7 riders selected to ride and Im sure the fans are in for some exciting times ahead.

I have to agree with aljack, at last we have a professional promotion team that can see the Tigers go from strength to strength for many years, not just limp along year after year and in some cases not even managing the limp!! We dont want to be remembered as the only team in the history of speedway that never won a match in a whole season! If the Tigers cant make it with the promotion that we have with their wealth of experience and knowledge, than no one can! Lets all be positive and very grateful that we even have a team to support this year, I know I am! Good luck to the Promotion, the team and the Academy, Lets all get behind them and support them, we are not the people making the decisions and stumping up the money, they are! lets respect that. Nikko
Has the Australian lad arrived yet? will he be here for the first meeting? anyone know? It does seem as though things have gone very silent. Looking at fb Cameron is, i believe, still in Aus and there is no mention of when he is coming over. No updates on the new official Fen Tigers website since 24th March but I assume everything is in place for P&P Monday when hopefully the last rider will be found.
