spin king
Colts team announced tonight at Belle Vue : Jason Garrity Kyle Howarth Adam Mckinna Karl Mason Chris Widman Scott Richardson Byron Becker That looks a pretty strong looking National League side, maybe another league title for Jason Garrity. waco
Colts team announced tonight at Belle Vue : Jason Garrity Kyle Howarth Adam Mckinna Karl Mason Chris Widman Scott Richardson Byron Becker The team looks well balanced as are most teams ive seen this year..Two cracking good youngsters in Jason(exciting to watch if still a bit wild) and Kyle who has done really well in Oz this winter. And if Byrons on his game a decent rider at this level.. Edited February 15, 2011 by waco
Nikko
Any idea what their averages are? Looks a solid side
CrystalCastles
Great looking side. No out & out number 1, or top level star on paper. I.E. Herne, Lambert, Kurtz, Roynon. But realistically they have 5 riders who should barring injury all hit between 6-8. They have 5 riders capable of realistically being heat leaders & all being matchwinners. They have Garrity who could be a top level star in 2011. Realisitically Garrity, Bekker, Mckinna i would of thought would battle it out for the number 1 spot. Howarth could do too but i dont see as much improvement in him as Garrity. Either way best looking side named so far IMO.
Rob B
Haven't really followed National League much, can anyone help with averages?
Brummie Kev
Really good team I must say, looks a strong all-round line up. Whilst Garrity is a fantastic talent, I think Kyle Howarth really does have a good future in the sport. I'm always impressed when I see him ride and for Belle Vue fans he's a local lad. One of the title favourites without a doubt.
IronScorpion
i am amazed that there are a lot of posters that require others to do their homework for them here are some that i use:- BSPA National League-last year removed? http://www.speedwayinfo.co.uk/ConferenceTeams.html http://speedwayresults.com/ click on riders for individual performances Garrity 5.16 Howarth 6.61 McKinna 6.74 Mason 5.85 Widman 3.43 Richardson 5.16 Becker 7.
Ben91
Solid side, personally can't see them winning the league, however if they do it'll justify Belle Vue entering a team into the NL. Garrity is the stand out rider, he will increase his average, however I can't see much in the others. Hackney are still the team to beat imo. spin king
Yeah I think that Jason Garrity could be a stand out rider, but don't write off Kyle Howarth, who is a very talented rider, saw Kyle ride in the British Semi Final at Sheffield and he did not disgrace himself and even gated and beat Andre Compton on the night. greyhoundp
Good all round Team, three more than capable Heat leaders in Garrity,Howarth, and Becker with Mckinna,Mason and Richardson capable of throwing in double figure scores, whilst i cant see them running away with the League, they have to be favourites at the moment. SimonB
Thank you SimonB, as these were just the latest i could find, at that moment. I looked and couldn't anything that seemed to give the "official" averages seems as if the BSPA are only interested in producing averages for the Elite & Premier Leagues

IronScorpion
Adam Mckinna might be the grey area to correct the averages. I found this http://www.speedwaygb.co/nlteams10.html updated 8-10-10 so these could be nearer the truth.

They needed typing up really as they were sent to us as a scanned pdf, but I've displayed it as a jpg to give you guys something to work from for now. 21st century heathen
Cheers Andy. -------------------------------- I'm not quite so convinced about this line-up as some seem to be. To me it looks as though they're taking a punt in every area of the team (by which I mean heat leader, 2nd string and reserve). Yes, it could work out but it looks a bit of a risky strategy and realistically you don't go in to a season thinking all of your riders will make a big step up. You hope a couple can, you hope a couple might edge up a bit, a solid scorer somewhere that you can rely on (which they have in McKinna IMO), and you accept at least one maybe two riders could have a poor season. It's a wild generalisation of course, but it's fair assessment of how things usually pan-out in the real world. Quite rightly people will point to the potential improvement in Garrity. But I think there may be too much pressure too soon and hope that this aspect is monitored by those around him. He has very fast equipment but is extremely wild, to put it politely. He averaged 5 last season but from reserve. To expect him to become a heat leader this season may pile pressure on him and make him ride in an even more desperate manner. If has a safe and steady season and ends with a 6-point average riding in the 1-5 all season then that will be progress, and perhaps next season could be the big one. I just sense some may be expecting him to average 8 and score double-figures home and away on a regular basis. Two 3-pointers at reserve is a risk too. There could be some tough away-days. Of course I could completely change my mind when all the team are finalised.
