f-s-p
Lebedev set to appear in the Finnish league next tuesday. I'm not able to post results from the meeting, maybe someone of the Finnish readers here can keep you all up to date... There's a chance that the U19 EC semifinal is gonna have liveupdates. I'll confirm it here late next week if it happens.

f-s-p
Any lineup for tomorrow UEM U19 in Seinäjoki? There's been absolutely nothing officially regarding tomorrows meeting, nothing. I just checked with speedway.org and they have nothing either, so I suspect its an UEM thing. I did hear today that only three are going through since the final's host nation doesn't have a qualified rider and semi 4 is the one giving from its quota. I'm at the track early tomorrow so I'll post something after noon. The organizer has also decided against keeping live updates, but we'll see how the day gets going and whether or not I'm into keeping some myself on this forum. f-s-p
Practide has been postponed twice, another track check at 1145. The weather radar looks really bad, but then again it's supposed to be pouring down at the moment and it's not. I do have a feeling though that we'll see the results of this meeting today. EDIT II: Practise cancelled, meeting goes ahead as planned at 4PM local. Short practise before each first heat. EDIT: SM-liiga last tuesday, I saw no one else had done them... Three danes through after Lahti's engine failed on lap three in the rerun while clear second behind MJJ. Some great speedway through the meeting after the locals made huge effort in saving the track and the meeting from abandonment. Loads of rain yesterday and last night and the track was really soggy but with the sun and hardwork they pulled it off. MBJ was the best and might have won it with max if MJJ had not had a fall in his second. He was helped by teammates a couple of times and he owns the guys a few drinks, not just Mad croc I might add. MJJ and Lahti had a great battle in their heat and a couple of heats after the interval had so much passing that I could not keep up. Hopefully starting the trip back home now, I've been here since 8AM and I'm only the photographer...

f-s-p
Back home from Forssa. The meeting was abandoned after 10 heats due to heavy rain. Results were declared after as the standings were after 9. Results are to be found elsewhere, I was told that speedway.org did them live and I guess Smolinskis site did them too. They did ride pretty fast! Kylmä was the best and Mustonen pointed out that if his drive belt would have lasted in his first it would have been Finnish 1-2... But it didn't. Appleton and Phillips both did well, but Phillips was rammed over by Lespinasse in heat one and hurt his knee. Smolinski had a nightmare with mechanical gremlins, just said to me that rubbish happens, no comments. That summed it up well. Also Hall blew up an engine and trashed a gearbox as well, not his night either. The rain started as heat 10 was at the tapes. The heat itself was ridden without problems but after that the sky opened at it was clear pretty soon that it's over. f-s-p
SM-liiga at Hyvinkää today. Results here!. I'm playing my lazy card with this one and will log off for a week in 15 minutes. KC at Hyvinkää tomorrow, league at Seinäjoki next saturday and KC at Kauhajoki on sunday after that. Follow results from www.speedway.fi. I think thats the safest bet to see them. So Hyvinkää saw some league action today for the first time since -06 I think. The fences were torn down last October and the construction was finished during the week. I think the fences look really good, but since the track has seen no action, it was somewhat understandable that it was really awful (absolute nightmare even) for racing. Still there were some good battles that kept you on the edge of your seat, but there was also the riders that were in it over their heads with the circumstances. Still, now they have the fences and hopefully after a short break the people in the group behind the deveploment at the track will get back to it and make the track itself better. I'm looking forward to the season finale at the same track on August 27th. And Aarnio was absent today because of flight delays. It was R/R for him. League standing 4/8 2011 Keittiöpiste 4 - 126 - 17 Sand Blowers 4 - 127 - 16 Kotkat 4 - 133 - 15 Paholaiset 4 - 46 - 8 See you in a week...
