george.m
Will i go blind if i do??? I'd feel too guilty doing that now, the ladies have just cooked us a good meal. Our night of sport and festivities continues on to 5am with Mixed Martial Arts (UFC) coming up in a few hours. So got to pay the loved ones some attention. Big relief, on the whole, we had a very good Grand Prix. One can't expect tons of passing in every race simply from the point of view they are the top riders in the sport and don't make that many mistakes. I'm absolutely well chuffed with the evening's entertainment so far. We've even got two newcomers to the sport here and they loved it. No you won't ... understand your diplomacy! spook
So Nicholls should have been excluded in the British Final in your opinion? Its a contact sport, those who think it isn't need to wake up. Nicki forced his way through yes, I have NO argument against that. However, I do not believe he knocked Harris off. Harris made that decision himself, to get off the bike. Therefore he was the cause of the stoppage. Correct decision in Heat 19 too. Lindback dove inside, had the line and Pedersen needed to read it and cutback. Anyway, there will always be controversial decisions in the sport, its what makes it fun. We'll just agree to disagree! You seem to be as interested in Nicholls in the British Final as anything else I actually agree with an earlier comment that you made ... that riders sliding off is not good for the sport....... NickiP has plagued the GP's with it for years..... and of course learnt it all from the master and innovator, Hans Nielsen........... the trouble is that when you get a borderline incident of potential sliding off, what should happen? You say NickiP didnt cause it and yet he most certainly made contact enough to shove Bomber out, and also in the path of Crump..... Bomber may well have over reacted whether it was a cynical tactic or anticipation of what he may have believed was trouble Ultimately it was NickiP's out of control bike handling that started the whole domino effect...... and was he really going to gain enough pace down that straight to get in front? Just like was it really going to do any good not cutting back against Antonio? I admire his fighting spirit but the guy is, and always has been a liability...... spook
decent GP all things considered....... masterful performance from Tomasz.... and the top 8 seem to be breaking away now Well done Ole Olsen ... the track was an improvement on what came previously this season and hopefully will help to inject some more life into the championship..... bit concerned at how many red seats were showing amongst the crowd tonight
ImpartialOne
Holders certainly on the pace, but Sayfutinovs going backwards, maybe our EL isnt to his liking. I noticed he seems to have gone backwards since joining EL. Coincidence maybe? Good to see Holder becoming a real player this year but I have to admire the 40+ riders. I don't think speedway has ever had 2 riders in their 40s at the top of the tree before in the same year. In the old days 35 was considered old at any level! The Nomad
Sorry Jan, I know you read the forums sometimes, but almost identical incidents, and both times you back your man Nicki when he was on different ends of each decision. Shame on Pearson for clearly not agreeing with Jan first time out but not having the balls to say it. If you are Pedersen's press officer Mr Steachman, I think it only fair in the interests of broadcasting standards that you declare an interest. spencebel
IMO brill ride by Jason in the final, to get that 2nd place.... Nicki not a happy bunny!!!!!
ImpartialOne
Very impressed with Jensen. Seems to have a good head on him and very smooth style for his age. Certainly not outclassed at the highest level. All credit to him.
SCB
I only caught the last few heats - is it worth getting up early in the morning for the replay ? Just warn your neighbors. You will shout at the tele as long as your opinion of Nicki is a polarised as much as anyone elses is
kenny bee firefly
Jan should not be aloud to commentate. He is so biassed it is unbelievable. Just a poor co-commentator in my opinion !!

alan_boon
argh!!! can someoe excplain to me how Bomber got 7th place to qualify for semis. Surely with him being excluded BEFORE Nicki it should be Nicki in 7th and Bomber in 8th. Wrong semi final. Or have I missed something ???? Harris finished 4 races, Pedersen only 3. SCB
Must admit when Nicki dropped it in the rerun of heat 9 I shouted out "ahfuff..." I broke my number 1 rules of speedway watching tonight. Never cheer when a rider falls. Twice I cheered. And once he as up shouted a load of abuse at Nicki via the tele. My justification for doing it to him is that whenever another rider falls off he waves his finger around like they wanted to throw the bike on the floor and risk injury. If he can be so unconcerned about others, I'm not going to worry about him. I'll Cardiff I'll be wagging my fingers at him in a similar way to what he does when a rider falls off. Totally agree with this, I've always thought the booing and cheering when he goes down to be too much but after tonights episode(s) I can see why he gets so much stick. YOU Mr P will be getting both barrels from me when you ride out onto the track in two weeks time cos that was totally uncalled for tonight. I know very few agree with me but Harris jumped off. Had he have straightened up I could understand it but he was sideways, no where near the fence, Crump was behind him so no reason to get off other than to force a rerun in the hope nicki would be excluded. I've seen him do it before for no reason. Nicki did the same in the next rerun so has no justification in waving his remaining fingers. Harris was playing him at his own game. Crump was the victim in it all but thankfully he wasn't injured and won the race eventually. Justice was done all round.

SCB
You mean to say he rides in it, who for?? Emil Sayfutdinov - Coventry Bees - Top of the EL averages. Frankly, I don't care what some foreigner does in the GPs, just what he does for the Bees.
