LisaColette
Strange that this hasn't been updated since 3.30. Any news on Davies? They announced he had hurt his chest and ribs.
T.N.T.
Glad Loramski had a good turn out for his farewell and those there got to see him flying aroundthe track once more ... they never really lose it Well Done to Freddie on winning it, hope this year he shows the form in the GP's too
Steve Shovlar
They announced he had hurt his chest and ribs. Poor lad was clearly in pain and we could hear his cries from the grandstand. he clipped Freddies back wheel and went into the fence between the 4th bend afer the air fence had finished. Awkward fall. Hope the news is better in the morning and nothnig more than bad bruising. A great crowd for Loramski and some good racing on a dry track, obviously not watered enough due to the risk of rain.

Great to see a good crowd and good field come out for Mark, it would have been even bigger had mr Gollob turned up, and the weather was better. I would just like to wish the man that got me back into speedway in 1999 all the very best for the future. He will be sorely missed.
KEITH M
How did Kenni Larsen look against more experienced riders
Starman2006
How did Kenni Larsen look against more experienced riders Now what would his conversion be?? Because he's far better than a four point rider,no wonder Coventry wanted him!! he looked good. Freddie rode very well tonight as did Davey. speedwaylover18
Sounded like an amazing meeting for a great man! Best wishes go to Alex Davies though not something a newport fan wanted to hear he done great to beat Hancock
Bomo1
Great send-off for Loramski but shame about his lodger Alex Davies, who looks a very good prospect. Typical of the current problems with the PZM, who banned Skornicki from taking part, even though he was there ready to race!! Very poor show on the part of the Poles! (ps bit disappointed with Greg - didn't seem on the pace at all!)

Very poor show on the part of the Poles! I haven't read or heard anything about it specifically, so maybe you're right. However, my assumption would be that due to the line-up, this had to be an FIM meeting...therefore, due to the existing dispute, there is no way Adam would have been allowed or insured to race. This will no doubt get discussed elsewhere, but that's got nothing to do with silencers. That's Dawid running to the PZM with complaints about Eastbourne
bigdavecox90
My first meeting back in a while. A great night. Makes me realise how much I miss it, so decided I'm gonna make the effort to get down every week now

Jaysand
Really good meeting last night - It was a great turnout from both riders and supporters. (Thankfully the weather behaved itself) No doubt a farewell to be proud of. Hope Alex Davies is better this morning - looked a very awkward spill... Skipper Davey was absolutely on fire... get him back in the GPs ASAP!! J

Bomo1
Not so much luck with breaking the track record though. Haha. I don't want to turn this into a Poole thread, but can't see the track record going for some while with these new silencers and I hope it doesn't!! If it makes for better (slightly slower?!) racing, thats fine by me.
BobC
Fabulous evening to say our Farewells to Mark. I must say that at 2pm,when it was still raining hard,I genuinely feared it may not go ahead. The rain stopped just after and slowly improved until the sun finally came out at around 5pm.Imagine my surprise as I entered the Stadium at around 6-15pm to see the track staff frantically watering the circuit! A superb turnout,at least double from the previous meeting vs Eastbourne and fans from all over the country there as well.Former World Champion Freddie Williams and former Pirate Ken Middleditch too.I saw Mike Hunter and his good lady, while fans from Berwick,Workington right down to Plymouth were also spotted. It really was a party atmosphere. Some interesting racing made for a good night even allowing for the dust.Freddie fully deserved his win,as always fast and stylish.Crump putting in some robust 1st turns and very fast as well.Personally,I wasnt too bothered about the quality of racing,I was there simply to support Mark. You could sense the emotion as Mark came out for his final few laps.Wonderful to see him again, although very sad once he stopped. The style was still there,The speed was still there.Alas the fitness wasnt! The only disappointment was that the PA broke down just as Mark was going to be interviewed after his laps.Once that got sorted, you could sense his genuine concern for Alex Davies following his alrming fall late in the meeting. That sums Mark up perfectly. It was his night, yet he was genuinely upset that Alex got injured while doing him a favour. Legend is a word often over used. Not in Marks case though. It fits him perfectly. Mark Loram.............Speedway Legend.
