orion
If Coventry and Peterborough come back we could well lose another EL team who are far from happy with what's going on. Coventry and Peterborough might not be back quite so easily. Who would you support then Steve ?
Steve Shovlar
Greedy Coventry hogging a couple of the top riders again while another club goes completely without. The BSPA did the right thing for all EL clubs with the one over 8 rule. The morale of the story is simple. Don't sign new number one riders up on two year contracts before an AGM, or you could get bitten on the backside. Jumped the gun twice before the AGM, did Coventry. If it was athletics they would be disqualified. Edited December 23, 2010 by Steve Shovlar
Aces51
Well, I suppose it comes down to the democratic vote and all that, 9 against 1 ? 9:1, there are only 8 teams in the EL. Anyway surely all Coventry fans would support a club which fought for transparency and fairness.

You can always get bitten on the backside if you sign a rider on any more than a one year deal. That's one of the problems with the way the sport is run with rules changing yearly, or even more often. And it's the 'moral' of the story. There's very little 'morale' in el speedway at the moment I'd say. Edited December 23, 2010 by Vincent Blackshadow
Jacques
Whats an Epitaph!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epitaph Spike Milligan often joked that he wanted. " I told you I was ill" on his gravestone. Yours should be. hagonshocker
Let Belle Vue sign Hans Nielsen as their number one, and they can have a guest for him every week. Simple In this rubbishty league he'd probably average 9+!
Gemini
Yeh yeh, All you Coventry fans were convinced there was a message in the Christmas tree prezzies etc, and some of you blinkered few actually believed that. Actually no. It's called having a sense of humour and trying to lighten things up a bit, but being as you are a blinkered Poole fan you wouldn't understand that. ......Steve Shovlar..... . Might be beacuase their team plans have been ruined with know no number one.... Run that by me again 'cos I don't understand. Greedy Coventry hogging a couple of the top riders again while another club goes completely without. That's interesting. Who is our 2nd top rider? SCB
Oh come on, some of you Coventry fans were adamant that there was a message in there, you can't try and turn it round. Really? The only people getting worked up about it were those expecting some announcement and trying to laugh at it. It's a Christmas greeting, I don't know why you're all getting so wound up, is it because you've all been made to look right ** with the later news story on the Coventry site that there was a meeting between the BSPA and Coventry. ladyluck
Greedy Coventry hogging a couple of the top riders again while another club goes completely without. I wasn't aware that it was Coventry that "hogged" Jason Crump and Bjarne Pedersen in 2007. I always thought it was Poole. You learn something new every day. williamfj
No it was Coventry, Poole have never commited any sort of dodgy business, and every other team has (I'm not argueing that any team are whiter than white) or at least thats what some think. Steve Shovlar
Who is our first then if Harris is the second? Not difficult to work out. And the reason for all the rumpus. By the sound of it Coventry jumped the gun twice. Once with Larsen, then a deal with another rider. BV and Peterborrough have no number one, yet Coventry have two. Fair, eh?
