Starman2006
Some were going loopy. I was certainly not. I posted in various places, not just on BSF that I will celebrate when there is something (concrete removed this word so as not to encourage contruction site gags ) positive and officially announced to celebrate! Regards, Martin Your starting to tie yourself up in knots. But yes, you dead right.
Beeone
Your starting to tie yourself up in knots. But yes, you dead right. I don't think I'm tying myself in knots , I just don't think the fact that talks are being held are actually that much of a cause for celebration, for sure I'm glad that something is happening and I hope things can be worked out and problems solved, but I will only have something to "go loopy" about if the talks have a positive conclusion, ie. Bees are back in business preferably in the Elite League. Merry Xmas, Regards, Martin
Gemini
Well, you were all going loopy when PhilfromCov wrote what he heard, and some of you Coventry fans were convinced there is a message in that Christmas Tree, im making a trip back to Specsavers after Christmas to complain as theres something wrong with these Glasses!! Have you never read the story 'The Emperor's New Clothes'?
Trees
I got a funny idea those who are reading the Christmas Tree like a Crystal Ball are getting the wrong messages, I'm really not surprised that the "fans" thought there was/is some sort of hidden message in that Christmas scene, of course they want to think that their team will be running next season, as a "fan" it's only natural!! philfromcov
Well Hydred has backed me up, and according to the Radio that PhilfromCov was listening to Coventry were going to make a press release/anouncement/ Statement today. So where is it? The longer this goes on!!! I got a funny idea those who are reading the Christmas Tree like a Crystal Ball are getting the wrong messages, because i as hard as ive tried can't find a statement on around under the Chrismas Tree that says Coventry are DEFINATELY racing next season!!! You have to ask the Question, where did this come from, who's doing the spouting??? Hey I had to sit through local radio to hear that! My mind is still numbed by it all! Pirates Of Poole
So there has been an EGM called by the BSPA for the first week of January. So it should become more clear by the 7th January regarding whats going on.

bazaar3
Well Hydred has backed me up, and according to the Radio that PhilfromCov was listening to Coventry were going to make a press release/anouncement/ Statement today. So where is it? Probably the same sort of joke statement they wer suppose to make a few days ago which they covered up with Xmas pic and a merry xmas message. Wonder if this time it will show a happy new year message this time around with a pic of fireworks in the new statement?
bazaar3
40 points limit. No change as other teams havbe already been started and any change now would create problems. No change. 60% conversion rate. As it is not the 70% that some on here guessed at, I think it has now much more credibility than first thought. The conversion rate needed amending, and it's introduction now has seen a levelling up in league strengths between the PL and EL, but I can see problems of progression of good British riders in future as EL teams deem foreigners as a better bet on their incoming averages. Up the foreigner's average next year to say 5 to help the situation. No change this year but foreign averages to be reviewed next year. Riders over 8. Implimentation of this rule means generally teams are set up similar, so that double big hitters don't dominate heats 13 and 15, and it gives everyone a chance of having a real number one. No change. 6.19 Pawlicki average. Agree with a mutual average of 5 starting this season. Change and monitor next year as stated above. Independant Speedway management panel. Will never be a runner as promoters, with large investments in the sport, will not accept and certainly not pay for this management level to tell them what to do with their own business. It will never happen. Despite what I have said, there is a need to look at something to address some perceived problems that have, and can occur, from time to time. What I would propose is to retain a learned guy who would perform a role such as a Director of say OffSpeed. The MC will, as now, be appointed between the 2 leagues and by all the BSPA members in a democratic vote. The Director would be of some independant stance, who would be retained every year to mediate in areas of conflict, and would chair and adjudicate on issues of great dispute such as happened at this years AGM. He would NOT sit in, or need to be available, for every General Council meeting or pre-AGM meeting, but could be on standby for each AGM. He would, or could be, a sports oriented barrister to give the role a deal of credibility and acceptance. I like Tony Steele, and he is very knowledable in all aspects of speedway and management, but I feel an independant outside authority would be a better choice and easier to accept. If this idea is not acceptable, then why not a commission be set up under the chairmanship of John Cook, with Colin Ptatt and one other, to bring back workable arrangements for say the 1st June which gives plenty of time to loo kat and research alternatives, and then to seek and achieve unanimous agreement for acceptance at the pre-AGM, and then voted in at the 2011 AGM. Any thoughts. Understandable. As alan boon said I would like it weaked to see both leagues more equal. The foreigners IMO should raise at least half a point. Like this rule. Unsure about the Pawlicki situation. Sitting on the fence with this one. The question really is do 2 rights make a wrong. Probably living in a dream world now but I would like to see 5 sensibel non biased-ish forum fans from each club make up their own BSPA and present ideas etc. 5 because democracy would rule and you could say the Coventry and Wolves like this rule but it wouldn't benefit Brimingham fans etc. We should just make up our own independant body and we could have polls on if we like a BSPA rule or not and the democracy could query it. More minds could make the sport better, who knows? Anyway back to reality.

Anyways could just be an agree to disagree here me thinks SCB. As someone who is on the mailing list for various OEM vehicle manufacturers, quite a few in fact One even had an embargo on their Christmas message which gave us a laugh in the office I think you're reading too much into things though, I do agree sticking "OFFICIAL STATEMENT" above the piece is a little misleading but I don't see how it's wrong. I think you're right with your last line though

Steve Shovlar
From what I can gather both Coventry and Peterborough have been excepted back into the fold but there is a problem with one club not happy at all about what has gone on. Might be beacuase their team plans have been ruined with know no number one or a rule change. Expect an announcement on the 4th January.
