SirMorgoth
Hello everybody, Back in September 2010 the friendly Aleksander Korshakov Memorial was held in Rovne, Ukraine. On various Polish websites as well as in the Polish press it has been recently said that Tomasz Piszcz (Poland), as well as Andrei Lebiediev and Kjastas Puodzuks (both Latvia) have been cheated by the organiser of the meeting. In one Ukrainian newspaper Igor Pirogov, the organiser claimed that he had settled all financial issues with everybody. A friend of mine has asked the paper to publish what the riders have to say on the matter, but it refused. So we have decided to publish these statements wherever it's possible. This has already been published on Lokomotiv Daugavpils website (http://www.lokomotive.lv/index.php?cat=1&subrubid=1369), and also a Swedish translation is being prepared. This is what the riders said: Andrey Lebedev (Daugavpils, Latvia): With a big surprised I have recently learnt from Ukrainian mass media that all participants of the Korshakov memorial had already received their fees. I am afraid that this is some kind of misunderstanding. I have not received so far a single penny for this event. The organisers have not negotiated with me directly, but through another racer – Vyacheslav Girutsky. The participation fee, point bonuses – all these conditions have been discussed and agreed by phone. However, after the first race, which had been postponed, I have received nothing. It was communicated to me that I would get everything in one instalment after the second race was over. But after the second race, I have not received anything for the two appearances, neither the bonuses for won points. It seemed like there was not enough money in the cash-box, as I was entitled to too much money after the race (as I understood while talking to many people after the race). I managed to reach Mr Pirogov calling him from Daugavpils two times. During the first conversation he promised that the money would be paid very soon. During the second conversation (recently) he told me that he would pay his debts by 2011. So, I can only wait now. And suddenly it turned out that Mr Pirogov had fulfilled his obligations. It is both sad and funny at the same time. But for me, honestly, the money would not be a burden at all. Kjastas Puodzuks (Daugavpils, Latvia): So it appears now that I got the promised fees? Nice, in that case I would like to explain, what really happened. Before the Memorial race I got a phone call from Mr Pirogov, in which he explained all the conditions. These conditions had met my expectations and we came to Rivne. After the race was postponed due to unfavourable weather conditions, I got less than half of what had been agreed initially. The rest should have been paid during my next visit. When it became clear that I would not be able to participate in the postponed race due to the birth of my daughter, Mr Pirogov was noticed about this by phone. We have agreed, that he will send me the missing money with the racers from Daugavpils after the second race. Money, however, has not been sent. After that Mr Pirogov have not contacted me and have been unreachable. Tomasz Piszcz (Lublin, Poland): With a big surprise and puzzlement I learnt that Mr Pirogov stated in the daily newspaper ‘Rivne Vechirne’ that he does not have any debts and obligations to any participants of the Korshakov Memorial race. I thought that the friend of mine who passed Mr Pirogov's statement to me was not fluent enough in Ukrainian and mixed something up. No, it was not really possible that Mr Pirogov had said something like that! I have not got yet any penny from the fee that should have been paid to me according to the contract signed between me and Mr Pirogov for the participation in this race. I feel really sad as I have done my job according to the contract, but did not get so far the fee stipulated by this contract. Actually I have not even had my expenses covered for the arrival to the memorial race that had been cancelled due to weather conditions. Mr Pirogov assured me and other racers, that everything would be paid right after the second race was finished (22nd September). However so far (as of 6th December) I have not been paid anything. After Mr Pirogov’s statement in the newspaper ‘Rivne Vechirne’ I tried to call him in order to clarify this issue. Unfortunately I was not able to reach him. We wrote some articles to the polish speedway web-sites and to the "Tygodnik Żużlowy" (our specialized in speedway weekly journal). We also prepare similar text to the other speedway forums, for example in Netherland: http://www.baansportfansite.nl/ (Igor Pirogov Oekraine). The same will be show on swedish, german and austrian sites and forums. Unfortunately we practically have no help in Ukraine We do all we can to bring back (by the President of Signal Rovno) money to the riders. Any ideas to help us? Ja-Jacek
We do all we can to bring back (by the President of Signal Rovno) money to the riders. I'm pleased, that I can inform you, that after our "action" FM of Ucraine forbid the Signal Rovno (club's president Igor Pirogov) to organize or to take part in all speedway events to paying off all debts in the face of Tomasz Piszcz, Kjastas Puodżuks and Andrzej Lebiediew. That's all folks...
