If the AGM finally takes place on Tuesday, some things i would like to see adressed are; a Points limit of 40, ALL new Commonwealth riders parentage or not to be assessed on 5 points, minimum riders average of 2 points, KO Cup to be completed by end of July,League to be decided on overall points, League Shield to be competed for at seasons end by Top four Teams,National Trophy to be decided for by the Teams finishing 5th to 8th.

Here, here (or is it 'hear, hear'..?! ).. :approve:

Agree with most of that although I would like to amalgamate the Shield and trophy into 1 competition competed by clubs finishing 2nd to 5th.

Also new averages first of every month regardless of meetings held - take away this nonsense of high scoring reserves running through most of the season on artificial averages.

I'd say commonwealth riders on 7.00 and be a little more flexible on the points limit (either up or down)depending on how many teams are in and what the pool of riders are, but otherwise I agree. :approve:

Seems sensible suggestions. I hope the rumour I've heard of adding 1 point to riders over 25, and subtracting 1 point from riders under 25 doesn't go ahead... would somewhat contradict the point of the average system.

I forgot to put in my previous post that along with the minimum 2 point average, i would have protected Heats in Heats 8 and is it heat 12/13 <riders as programed>i dont have a program here with me, but the other race where a 2nd string rides with the reserve ie NO tactical subs in those races, this will not destroy young lads confidence by having a Heat leader against him, and not give us races where the winner is half a lap in front.

Hopefully some good news will arrive today if the meeting is going ahead of course!

I think the points limit needs to reflect the final number of teams and the available riders, as per Halifaxs comment. Personally I have never had an issue with foreign riders as I think they bring some much needed excitement to the racing, it is for the British lads to prove themselves good enough for a place. Having said that I do believe that any assessed average needs to be accurate in terms of their ability.

Overall I hope that we have a decent number of teams, all of whom complete the season, that produce competitive quality racing that enough people come to watch!

We dont have Tactical Subs now just reserve replacements and rider replacement.

Is that new for 2011?

Why cant we keep all 3 leagues using the same rules?

watch the teams now try and find a way to keep a rider down at reserve!

There haven't been tactical subs for a while. The last one I can remember was 2008? When the Golden Double was still used, but from 15 metres back?

There are, however, tactical rides, but that doesn't change the riders in the race, just the points scored.

It says somnething for our rules that they are not clearly understood by so many spectators.

All three Leagues are the same in this area and are pretty much co-terminus on race nights the difference being around points limits and the use of foreign riders and thus assessed avaerages and the minefield that exists there.

I was once accosted by a Boston supporter who demanded to know why I had not used a Tactical Substitute a few years ago. I said when should I have done that and he said as sonn as you were six points behind. When I explained that the rule had changed to an eight point deficit he sheepishly withdrew his remark excusing himself by saying "How was I to know that?".

Sometimes words fail me.

OooPS  read it and thought you meant Tactical rides (ie double points for beating opposition rider) !!

Can you confirm if the AGM is taking place today or not?

Whatever happens at the meeting let's hope it doesn't trigger a descent into the depths like the EL AGM.

too late .... Mildenhall being refused entry this morning tells me that Mr Morrish is sitting pretty with the BSPA and has the same intent to completely screw the sport up as best they can.

RIP speedway ... was good while we had it .

There you go then, a league that is run by an independant still does stupid things. Proof of ever it was needed, someone independant is not a perfect solution.

An independant body not an independant person. Where are the checks and balances with an individual running the league? His own personal feelings and bias will always cloud his judgement.
