Is Lewis Blackbird a relation to Carl Blackbird? Former Mildenhall rider

Not seen much of the two reserves, can anyone give much feedback on them two?

I think he is his son.

Very good signing he will go well around the NA. James and Darren are a decent spearhead. I like the look of KL, how all NL teams should look IMO.

Spot on. A couple of experienced spearheads to go with five lads making their way in speedway. The two reserves are really just starting out but the top five are all looking for and arguably capable of gaining PL spots at some point in 2011.

Just to add that the two reserves are cousins but the older one Lewis is not just starting out in speedway, having ridden for Sittingbourne in 2006 I think, and Oxford in 2007. Both have been riding in some Dragons and STR amateur meetings in 2010.

The Young Stars team are still not on the BSPA site, has anyone from the club emailed the BSPA press office because if you dont they wont put the team on it.

Can someone tell Dale.

Thanks

And more than a week later, this is still the case. Is there a problem with the Lynn team? Can it not be made official for some reason?

Neither is the Plymouth side shown in the Premier League section, yet they've officially declared their side.

Maybe Dale is on holiday....or even unwell, I'm sure there is not a problem.

Dale,

Could you please confirm that the Young Stars are at home to the USA U21 on the 27th April as listed on the BSPA website. It's just that the Elite League Pairs is being staged at the Norfolk Arena that night, and I'd be surprised if a double-header was being run.

Thanks

Mike

There seem to be plenty of rumours going around that Lewis Blackbird won't be riding for the Young Stars in 2011

Any comment Dale?

Dale was interviewed last night. He mention the riders that would be riding for the Young Stars next season. No mention of either Blackbird or indeed Cockle. He also said that he would be announcing a new signing today.

Delighted that Olly Rayson has joined up as a full time King's Lynn Star. Put in a number of good performances at the end of last season.

Not seen any mention yet on this thread of young Andrew Ross being given a call up to the NL squad. Saw him at the STRA practice a couple of weeks back and he looks to have a lot of potential B)

I must say that the Young Stars looked extremely sharp during the course of p & p today, and I've thought that Garry May's prediction in last weeks Speedway Star that we'll finish 10th is way off the mark.

Skipper, James Cockle was absent as he was taking an exam, and Oliver Rayson is overseas at the moment, but the rest of the squad were in attendance. Also out on track for a few practice laps was Filip Šitera, and to see him riding a bike, sitting on the machine backwards, was something I've never witnessed before, and quite amazing.

So the cobwebs have now been dusted off, and the lads are eagerly looking forward to next Wednesday evening, when they take on one of the mosr famous names in British Speedway, the Hackney 'Hawks'.

If you weren't at King's Lynn last night, I would point out, that if you attend Monday nights televised meeting against Lakeside (7.30pm), you'll be given a voucher that will entitle you to free admission two nights later for the mouth watering National League fixture.

With money being so tight these days, that's one gift horse that shouldn't be looked in the mouth.
