I understand that was increased to 5.00 at the NL AGM

Is there a facility which would allow the likes of Joe Haines to ride in the NL. A rider above a 5 point PL average, no premier league team place this year, recovering from serious injury etc etc....it'd be a shame if such a rider is frozen out through no fault of his own. Is there a facility that allows such a rider chance to ride national league, perhaps on a negociated lower average?

Albert, I'm not Malcolm but I can answer your question. Any rider with a PL of 6 or below may ride in the NL providing they are not in a PL 1-7. There are no reductions in averages in the NL, the PL average is just doubled less the 2.5% discount.

In fact Joe finished with an avarage of 6.53 which would equate to 6.37 and is therefore not eligible to ride in the National League.

I think Joe will get a team place very quickly once teams start to make changes for whatever reason. He is far too good and still developing and should not be sidelined for too long.

So, given that we will probably sign a 3 pointer as the 7th rider, what do people think of this team? I know about Lambert and Atkin, and I know a bit about Webster, but not too sure on the others. Isherwood has the trouble of being remembered by Stoke fans as a wobbler, and the other 2 haven't ridden for Stoke!

Can we get optimistic?

To say anyone will win the League at this stage is being over optimistic, with signings so far made it will be very competitive, but it is still a little to early to pick out a favourite though some teams have very strong Top ends, some have very strong bottom ends, none as yet who i can see have both, and some who have to complete there announcements, so i am not prepared to say as yet who WILL win the League.

Just had to sign on to wish all the best Jamie, Plymouth won't be the same without you. Maybe see again in a season or two. Potters, our loss, your gain, get behind this lad please. He's a good 'un. ;)

Just like to say all the best to Jaimie and Tim for the coming season, Stoke have two lads in JP and TW that will give 100% for the team, i think Stoke have a very good side, having James Sarjeant at reserve is a very good move, well done Malcolm, all the best lads.

Very pleased to see a place for Jaimie Pickard at Stoke. Good luck to him AND the Potters for the forthcoming season. Good pick Malcolm! You have chosen a lad who is just beginning to realise that he actually has a lot of talent and with the increased confidence, his performances for the Devils leapt forward last season.
