A league with 13 opposing teams, including our old freinds from the A140 visiting at least once, or a league with 7 opposing teams visiting at least twice?

I know which I prefer :)

My other question would be to the supporters excited about the ''Shambles'' league speedway, do you really want what Witches fans have had to endure for at least the last two seasons, because I don't particularly and would be far more happy watching my team challenging for honours.

Do Lynn really "Want to go to hELl"?

That's the thing, because we have heard not much from the KL promotion since the AGM,nor have they denied this rumour, and now because it has been announced on a radio programme that KL will be EL no matter what basically, then I guess the answer to your question is yes.

ooerr... :o

5 or 6 years ago id have loved this rumour but must confess ive grown to like the PL - must be the fact that we're good at it lol

would think that another promoter might come in if its true - that way Buster gets rental money and doesnt really lose out if at the end of next year things all change again.

what are the odds it'll be the ex-Bees who are the backbone of the team and promotion for that matter.....

im semi-excited at the mo ;)

This is getting annoying now, why are people so inpatient?

Lynn have said by the end of the week we will find out "team news" this obviously ties in with the statement regarding the Elite League future in the next 48 hours.

So they are probably finalising the elite league and finding out what clubs are going to be competing ....so to find out early or getting a statement early just isn't going to happen.

As to people telling Buster and Co what to do.........fair enough you want to voice your opinion but look what Buster has done for the club, if you can't agree he has done a brilliant job for us then you need a slap with a herring.

Buster himself has said he would not go in the Elite league unless it changed dramitically or the club was sold, he would not put the club in jeopardy!

So maybe something has changed which he is now happy with or there has been a large money incentive - right now I think we just have to be patient and have faith in Busters decision..... I am a STARS fan and will support them as much as I can, whatever league they race in.

Yes a return to the EL of old say early 2000's would be fantastic... but unfortunately that just isn't possible, with huge changes happening between then and now. Reading and Oxford closed due to the financial demands of the 'top' league and we were close to folding in 2002... do we really want to see a repeat of that?

The EL is completely different from the time when Lynn was last in the league, the top riders have desserted it and going by some sky meetings the fans have too and reading the forum and match reports from last season I can see why... the riders in the EL are so spread out in ability. You had the likes of Kozza who was inconsistant enough at PL level, riding for Ipswich regularly towards the end of last season. No offence to Kozza, but he is nowhere near ready for EL. It isn't just the British system's fault though, Poland and Russia are major contributers to speedway in this country problems. The top riders are earning a higher wage over there and are demanding similar pay over here... but it just isn't viable in Britain with crowd levels dramatically lower than Poland's Ekstraliga. It's just common sense that without the support of the fans then rider's wages will not be paid.

Basically, you can forget the top riders, variety of teams, local rivalries... everything that makes speedway enjoyable for a fan by going into the EL. So what really is the incentive?

I agree with the general tenor of your comment, and why would the Stars want to give up a local derby against Ipswich?

Russia's league collapsed because they didn't have any restrictions on team strengths - as a result the two teams that had owners with deep pockets priced their opponents out of the league. In 2009 the Russian league ran with three teams and no foreigners, this year it expanded to five teams and no foreigners (but three of the teams are just making the numbers up)

PS Please don't remind me about the Bu**dogs, it's still too painful

Lynn seem to be in a win-win situation. The BSPA bankrolls a season in the top flight (which ought to be the ambition of every club!) and if it doesn't work out you move back into the comfort zone of the PL. There's no question of the EL bankrupting Lynn so you've nothing to lose. The Elite League's really not the awful place it's being portrayed as. Give it a chance.

The worry I have is that Kings Lynn and Buster are being used in all of this. If P'boro and Coventry kiss and make up with the BSPA, where does that leave the Stars ? Will there still be a big golden egg for them to join the Elite League, or will be hanks Buster, we dont need you now. If the rumours are true, and I mean IF, then how are the riders Buster was hoping to sign for his Premier League side feel ? Will some now look to take other offers rather than wait around for what could be a maybe. We might end up getting shafted either way.

The EL seems desperate to increase its numbers so I can't see KL being left high and dry. Can't imagine there's any EL promoter wouldn't want Lynn in the top league. Great track, good support - should be EL.

But, if we do go Elite League, and after a year get fed up of being messed around with riders not turning up, not knowing who's in the team etc... Who's to say that we will actually be allowed to drop straight back into the Premier League? Ipswich have wanted to come into this league for a few seasons now, as well as BV and National League teams such as Plymouth wanting to move up... I will support KL in whichever league, but I dont want it to end up like before where we're just propping up the league which is what happened except for 2000 really.

Thats not really here Im coming from. If there is a big carrot being dangled under the nose of Buster, as the BSPA are desperate for that one extra Club, will that Carrot still be on offer If P'Boro and Coventry toe the line and come back into the fold ?

Hard, the other point is what damage could that year in the Elite do to Buster's long term business ? After Waggy;s last year in charge at Saddlebow, the Club was at an all time low. It took Buster a lot of time and hard work to build the business and the fan base back up. I am not so sure it would be as easy a 2nd time around.
