crikeythatsfast
Sky report http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,14465_6526532,00.html Interesting to see it on Sky mate. Let's hope this is put to bed sooner rather later, not only for the good of the sport, but for the sake of the fans from all (possbily)3 clubs (Bees, Panthers, Stars), or it will make the EL even more of a joke than it is at the moment. It's a flaming mess that's for sure
Canadian Star
The EL is in a mess, which gets bigger each season it seems If all of this cash is around, and we don't know that it is, then offer it to Ipswich to continue in the EL We have a successful formula at the NA, both on and off the track, which ensures survival every season Lets keep it that way, especially in the hard times to come! There is a sum of money that Sky pay for the rights to screen UK Speedway. In the good old days this TV money used to be shared out at the end of the season amongst all the clubs, including any profits from shared events. Nowadays a company called Gospeed own the media rights for UK Speedway, they collect all the money and hand some of it back to the promoters as they see fit. I could make an educated as to how much that could be, suffice to say that if it was all shared out to the tracks, as in the good old days, perhaps most of them wouldnt be losing money as seems likely
Daniel Smith
I am sure Lynn would never run under Peterboroughs name. And Peterborough don't have an issue with the rental of the Showground i don't think. They have a problem with some of the new rules to what i can gather. You miss understand Peterborough = EL King's Lynn = PL King's Lynn reserves = NL All at the Norfolk Arena The BSPA run Peterborough & use the Norfolk Arena as the venue because it works out cheaper in rental costs for all party's. It wouldn't be at the showground because Frost holds the rental agreement but would be suspended by the BSPA.

I could see you losing the Kings Lynn NL team and the PL team being supported as 'well' as the NL team are now... It could be the death of Kings Lynn... slidingpostie
The Stars would run on a Weds as usual, Peterborough would race on a Friday and Young Stars on a Sunday. Stockcars can have Saturdays and long weekends when no speedway is on. Buster keeps the food/drink money taken from Friday nights, Boro keep the gate receipts but pay Buster for use of track and pits, those of us who couldn't make Wednesdays could be tempted to go Friday if prices weren't to high. Could work, if I had the financial clout behind me I'd give it a go
crikeythatsfast
Anyone else getting that mushroom feeling, about next season ? Yes, kept in the dark, got that feeling for the past few days. What is happening thats so bad they can't keep the fans up to date with what's happening. I am starting to care less and less. pufcfanno1
I'm a Panthers fan, but I do also enjoy my trips to the Norfolk Arena when I get the chance. My feeling at the moment is that if we were to lose the Panthers I would be happy to travel to Lynn to support them in the Premier League. However, I could not support a team who support what's going on in the Elite League right now and I have no idea why anyone would even want to step up into it at the moment. I really hope things get sorted in the Elite League and I can continue going to both, and I really hope that whatever decision is made by Kings Lynn is the right one for them. Bagpuss
If there are sensitive negotiations happening then it wouldn't be prudent of them to release details in the press. We just have to be patient, people. Anybody would think we were a month away from tapes up, not four! Edited November 26, 2010 by Bagpuss
ajh
Plenty of people I know disagree about EL or PL which is think is fair enough. Everyone has their own preference. However, EVERY Stars fan I've spoken to is pretty p***ed off about being left in limbo like this. Just let us know what's going on We are the only club like this. Coventry and Peterborough fans know they will be in the Elite if they run, which I honestly think (and hope) they will. At the moment, are we a EL or PL club. In the Lynn News, Buster hardly puts up a strong denial about going EL. Just says "at the moment we are a PL club". As I said on Facebook - how long is a moment though? A day, a week, a season? Baggy, I agree details shouldnt be releashed, but there would be no harm in letting the fans know a broad outline of what is going on. Just feel like Kings Lynn are being used as a pawn in a game of Chess between the big boys of the Elite League. After all up until Monday ( as stated in Tuesdyas EDP) there as been no talk what so ever of Elite League Speedway coming to Saddlebow. Indeed as we had made 2 signings of Premier League standard, and Rob Lyons saying how he was looking forward to facing Ipswich next season. It was Premier League, and nothing else. I personaly think out of courtesy to his customers Buster could have said either, No truth or we are in discussions about the possibilty of joining the Elite league. yet all we have is a stoney silence. We don't even officially know that, it's all rumour and hearsay at the moment. PS - I'm rubbish at being patient. Panthers99
Ill swap positions though.... atleast you are guaranteed to have a team running.... we're still in limbo over absolutely everything
refereerick
Is it not obvious? Seems to me its a case of if Coventry and Peterborough pull out of the Elite League the league will be down to 7 teams and the Sky deal is for a minimum 8 team league. Therefore the Elite will throw money at Kings Lynn to move up to keep the Sky contract going. If Coventry and Peterborough remain in the Elite then Kings Lynn will stay put in the Premier. Went to Peterborough last season for the Panthers v Poole clash and it was a great meeting. It would be a real loss to speedway if you didn't run. Is it not obvious? Well that's what most people I've spoken to think but it would be nice to know from the horses mouth so to speak. I don't want KL to be used, especially if it plays a part in closing Coventry and Poole.
