King's Lynn 2011

If doolan has priced himself out of a return, how about moose? It doesnt seem like he will be back at glasgow, and after a season visiting relatively strange tracks could be a good bet for this season.Moose for no 1!!!!

Its possible, and if McGowan is looking to get into Poland then a wednesday night home track would be attractive.

How about a return for Daniel Nermark.

Gutted that it looks like Kevin will never ride in Stars colours again, the club has had it's most successful years with him in the team so it's a huge loss :( Wish him all the best with his future club whoever it may be and he will be a very popular visitor when he comes to town :approve:

I hope the Chapman's aren't thinking of going with Topinka as number one... he just isn't consistant enough anymore to spearhead the team. A replacement is needed, I'd like to think either Nermark or McGowan and pray it's not the other name being floated around on this thread

Breaking News

Rene Bach has told Peterborough that he doesn't want to return to Newcastle as he want to join a Polish club full time which rules him out of Sunday meetings.

Peterborough with Rene's permission has offered his services to King's Lynn as a mid week track

It is a loss. But if one rider demands that rise of 30% across the season, then I am sure other riders will do the same. And at these times when people are losing jobs left, right and center, and others having to cut down hours I can't say as I blame the promotion for saying no and an agreement not being reached.

I for one will miss Kev in Stars colours that's for sure, but now we must move on and support whoever our new riders are.

Sometimes I love this time of year as it's exciting seeing who will be coming in to our 2011 team. :)

I would just like to reiterate to some that he's only been offered to King's Lynn as a mid week track. At no point did I say he's signed

The main part of the news is that he will not be at Newcastle next season unless they change there race night.

Just thought I'd make that clear

Trust me, it isn't a done deal. Bach has a Polish club lined up and has been advised that he is required to fulfil 80% of there fixtures. He's waiting to see if he can get a deal with a mid week track over here. If he does, he'll sign the deal with his potential Polish club & not return to Newcastle.

The Polish club has given him 2 weeks to make his decision

the thing is can he afford to miss the oppotunity of the ££££ in poland .. a decent under21 are more sought after than anything in poland he'd be foolish not to take it if it's been offered

the full press release from the NA ...

The King’s Lynn Stars have had to reluctantly part ways with popular Australian, Kevin Doolan. The Stars were keen to retain his services for the 2011 season but the two parties were unable to come to a financial deal.

Buster Chapman is keen for the fans to understand that the both the club and Kevin have parted amicably ‘Kevin insisted he needed a pay rise which equated to around a 30% increase over the whole season. He said it was because of his increasing costs but the club could simply not afford to meet that request, especially with such an unsteady economy and the fact I would like to see our admission prices remain the same for next season. So unfortunately we had to shake hands and part ways. In view of us not being able to afford Kevin next season the chances are we will probably never be able to afford him again so we have decided that if any other club want him it will be on a full transfer only’.

Buster Chapman is also keen to stress that he is worried for the financial future of many Premier League clubs ‘I would be surprised if any Premier League club could afford to employ a rider on these sort of terms and if they can then I wonder what sort of business plan they have in place. The fact is that speedways costs seem to be spiralling out of control but Stars fans can be confident that the club will never put its future in the balance for the sake of one or two riders!’

Well, there will be no Kevin Doolan at King's Lynn next year because according to the Daily Mirror, Doolan has been transfer listed after he and club failed to agree a deal for next year.

Confirmed on the KL Facebook by Buster. As stated on another post the Stars must find another quality No.1.
