desertoak
Cmon Scribbler dont compare all Aussies to one rider. I still cant get my head around why Nick would leave the club when most needed either after what they have done for him this year. I can only speak for my son and i can tell you my son would blead for Buxton, he loves the club and everyone involved with it. So to tar all aussies with the same brush is unfair. Darrell Branford Robert is repaying Buxton for the faith they placed in him when he was unknown no dought. Nick will be remembered for letting Buxton down and not the great races he has had all year. I am sure young Robert would like to be home as well but he knows the jobs not done yet. i know which aussie rider i would want in my side. squall
Enjoyed todays meeting. After all the criticism from Dudley fans (despite Dudley doing well on all 3 visits to Buxton) the track had been worked on, plenty of muck was thrown on and race times were consistantly fast. The best I've seen the track for a long time - and there were no ruts! Garrity was the star of the show, while Branford was superb. Jay Herne did a great job replacing Cookie and Richie Worrall was a superb number 8 and did much better than I expected - definately one to watch next year! The Young Queens weren't as bad as the score suggests. Rayson was always in the thick of it and deserved more, while Rambo had more than a fair share of bad luck! The final score sets it up perfect for Wednesday as it could easily go down to heat 15 as I really do like the look of KL's side (Never thought I'd say that!!!) liverpool chad
First visit to Buxton, today. Wonderful location and easier to find than i had imagined! Found the racing a bit tedious with the lack of passing or even close racing. I feel the track could do with some more dirt on it as it looked like concrete on the third bend where i was stood! Does anyone know why the track wasn't graded all afternoon? Overall a poor meeting that could of been better had the track had some more shale on it and had it been graded every 4 heats. Killer Cat from Mars
I'm afraid if you find the sight of Jason Garrity in full flight 'tedious', there is little hope for you! Putting more shale on the track doesn't usually work either, as it was very deep the other week and the away fans complained that there was too much dirt on it! I enjoyed the meeting, which maybe didn't have the cut and thrust of the Dudley meetings but was still a country mile head of the 'racing' I've seen at Belle Vue all year. Jason again just gets better with every meeting and Robert Branford also is showing continued improvement. Will 23 points be enough? - I really hope so, but I'm sure the Young Stars will give it all they've got on Wednesday (weather permitting!). I never said anything about watching Jason Garrity being 'tedious' but you have got to admit once the first bend of the first lap was done then the race was effectively over! For what it's worth Jason Garritys performance at Monmore Green in the first leg of the play off semi-final was much better than yesterday has he had to show some trackcraft in passing the Dudley riders in some of his races. Sverre Harrfeldt, Peter Collins and Soren Sjosten where three of the most exciting young riders i ever saw ride! but to see them the best part of half a lap in front of the nearest rider was never much fun. The same can be said for Garrity or anyother rider, much better to see them compete in a close race than to see them 'screw it on' half a lap in front! Killer Cat from Mars
I saw both Jason's performances at Dudley in the semi's and yes it was brilliant to see him race and outride the Dudley boys on their own circuit. As for close racing on Sunday....well, maybe being a neutral that was what you wanted to see, but for myself, as a Buxton fan, especially in a Final, I just want to see the Hitmen win, and win big, so Sunday was fine by me. The riders in the National League this year are of a much better standard than previous years and make less mistakes, so there are bound to be some processions, but I have seen some great racing this year at Hi-Edge, close, exciting and with plenty of overtaking. Speedway is all about opinions I grant you, but Buxton really deserve all their success this year and I hope they can sweep the board.
