The vast majority of people do so. Inzell is not a big town, rather a village, and distances are not problematic, but it is about 2 or 3 km from the town center to the Ice Arena. Depends where Your hotel is. For more info take a look here: Inzell

f-s-p
"Sulzburg" & "Slazburg" You've all been on the beer today? As it happens I know you have (as I)... No speedway tickets at the gate though, promise. Have you done a forum search on this? I think Conkers has spilled ALL the beans on ALL the possible venues in the past regarding ice racing. He even opened a thread about the coming season in August, even before the polar bears had seen ice this year!

If you fly into Munich, then it's a train to Traunstein followed by a bus ride from Traunstein to Bad Reichenhall(no.9526 bus). From Traunstein to Inzell it takes 30 mins.If you fly into Salzburg, then it's only 25 mins to Traunstein and the same as above to Inzell on the 9526 bus.All details can be found at http://www.bahn.com/i/view/GBR/en/index.shtml As Bavarian has pointed out,it's much easier from Salzburg to Inzell. Speaking with Conkers a few weeks ago regarding accommodation and obviously Inzell fills up very quickly. There seems to be a few hotels in Ruhpolding(8km from Inzell).Expedia and Booking.com websites should sort you if you're struggling to find any suitable accomodation.Hope this helps Gary. GARY POPPS
Thanks for all that advice,i managed to book a hotel in Holzen ,about 3 km from Inzell centre. I cant seem to get a flight from London to salzburg on those dates,so it may have to be Munich, Unless anyone knows of an airline thats doing this at a reasonable cost. I want to fly out Friday and back Sunday night.

Same here Gary.Easyjet flights from Gatwick to Salzburg only go up to the 26th March(which appears to be the end of the winter season).I wish to fly home on the Monday 28th(which is the start of the summer season of flights)and aren't available to book at this moment in time.I'm considering of flying into Salzburg and out of Munich on 28th March,if economically viable. There is the 2nd part of the weekend event on Sunday 27th March(provisional),so you may miss the Sunday event,if you wish to fly home on that date! Bavarian
After a year off due to the construction work, this winter's ice racing at Inzell will be the first in the brand new Inzell Indoor Ice Arena! One can expect the Arena to be similar to how it was at Hamar in Norway, but hopefuly with a lot more atmosphere!

Conkers
Scheduled flights into Salzburg are quite expensive, and the budget airlines fly in weekly, as I've been looking. I have plumped for Lufthansa to Munich from Manchester and then train/bus. My hotel is booked but I need to speak the Jacky & Lars to find out where I'm staying

Bavarian
Just want to let You guys know that perhaps it is wise to buy entry tickets in advance. I'm not an ice racing fan, so it does not concern me at all, but if You go there You should be aware that the stadium capacity has been more than halved because of converting the stadium into an indoor facility. I am told that only about 5,500 will make it a sell-out crowd! Should be full on both days! And I could imagine that with theimproved facilities and teh much reduced capacity, Inzell ticket prices may be on the rise quite dramatically!
