leoni
This Friday is the Kenny Smith Memorial Meeting at the Eddie Wright Raceway, there is some news about this on the Scunthorpe Speedway official website www.scunthorpespeedway.com I don't think Tai will be riding as Wolverhampton are now riding on Friday, Scott Nicholls, Simon Stead, Patrick Hougaard,Thomas Jorganson and I assume the Scorpions will be riding Hopefully Scunnystag can give us some more info
Fozzie4388
Woffinden, Proctor and Ludvig have all had to withdraw due to Wolves having a fixture. As far as i can see only 12 Names of the 16 been announced so far they are. Rory Schlein James Wright Scott Nicholls Simon Stead Patrick Hougaard David Howe Tero Aarnio Carl Wilkinson Viktor Bergstrom Jan Graversen New Signing Thomas Jorgensen and a Polish Unknown Emil Idziorek Edited October 13, 2010 by Superstar1
emilali
Emil Idziorek is a 20 year old Pole who rides for Orzel Lodz in Polish League 2. He rides alongside former Berwick riders Jacek Rempala and Stan Burza. Looks quite a handy young rider without being one of the top young Poles, although thats not surprising when they have guys like Pawlicki, Janowski, Zengota etc. Idziorek has had a few descent meetings in his homeland this year and I wonder if Scunthorpe are bringing him over to have a look at him with a view to a team place next season. Anybody know anymore on this, seems strange Scunthorpe are going to the trouble of bringing in a total unknown.
Scunny Stag
Sadly Emil Idziorek has been forced to ride in a meeting in Poland. However, from www.scunthorpespeedway.com: Grand Prix star Hans Andersen has agreed to line-up in Friday night's Kenny Smith Memorial meeting at the Eddie Wright Raceway which will raise funds for the renewal of the club's air fence. After a great deal of work and exciting sixteen rider line-up has now been finalised with six Elite League riders joining five current Scorpions, a 2011 Scorpion, an untried Swede who is looking for a Premier League berth, Stoke's German U-21 World Finalist Frank Facher, Czech rider Hynek Stichauer and former Scorpion Simon Lambert. The meeting starts at 7.30pm but there will be three demonstration races from the Blast from the Past veteran riders on their old bikes prior to the first race. Full line-up: Scott Nicholls Hans Andersen Simon Stead Rory Schlein Patrick Hougaard James Wright Hynek Stichauer Frank Facher Robin Bergqvist Thomas Jørgensen Simon Lambert David Howe Carl Wilkinson Tero Aarnio Viktor Bergström Jan Graversen

To be honest it was Idziorek's Manager who contacted us and wanted him to ride in the meeting. Sadly, the meeting that has been organised at short notice in Poland has been done so by his, and the Lodz' side's, main sponsor. He really must attend if he wants to ride in Poland next year. He was very disappointed after lots of plans had been made for him to ride on Friday. Thankfully we have somehow managed to pull together a quality line-up and I'm very excited about watching the meeting.

Ahh right I see, unfortunate that has happened but I guess thats the sort of thing that can happen when the Polish league is involved lol. Is the lad interested in riding over here next year? Yes I do agree, looks a particularly good meeting, crowd are in for a treat.
scunny1
Why is Magnus Karlsson not defending his trophy won last year. Do we take it that things are that bad with the promotion and he is driven out???
June
Why is Magnus Karlsson not defending his trophy won last year. Do we take it that things are that bad with the promotion and he is driven out??? Come on Scunny 1 .......We've been hearing rumours all through the summer ( supposedly coming from Magnus's pits ) that Magnus wants out. I am a huge fan of Magnus, great guy! and will be sorry to see him go, but surely we only want riders who's heart is with Scunny and want to ride for us. We have to rely on our promoter and team manager to give us a team of riders whos going to do the business for our team the SCORPIONS. IronScorpion
http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/today.asp?zipcode=Scunthorpe expected showers but you know what the weather men are like plus, it's only showers. Our track will easily soak them up to make a perfect, grippy race track. What a cracking line up in which i cannot name the top 3. This is the best field of riders to perform at the EWR for the benefit of a great man, who did so much for the Scorpions.

IronScorpion
The showers have arrived but only enough, at the moment, to just wet the ground. I'll keep you informed to how much, later.

Fozzie4388
I reckon David, Tero and Wilko could be up there. Simon Lambert a dark horse for me. Prediction 1st David Howe 2nd Scott Nicholls 3rd Patrick Hougaard 4th Tero Aarnio Lambert, Andersen, Stead and Wilkinson to be in the mix Edited October 15, 2010 by Superstar1
