Chris Harris

Ladyluck is right in one way,IMO Harris wasnt deserving of a GP pick at the start of the season,

Very few people would dispute that, but Lady Lucks been offensive more than once about Harris, and to suggest he will dine out on this success for years to come is totally disrespectful. Harris has more than shown he has guts and determination after that crash Monday night and whilst some people may not think he is WC material, he is deserving of our respect.

I agree with you, like I posted if Harris can add consistency to his game he could be a real contender.Tony Olsson doing the tracks has helped Harris as the slick tracks that Ole Olsen prepared did him no favours along with the other riders.

All in all,a good season for Harris, hopefully he will build on it next.

In the latter half of the year Bomber has propably only being bettered by Gollob overall, so why continue to moan about him being given a wild card for what is now last season? Maybe he didn't deserve it compared to other riders of non British decent (I'm not getting into that argument! ) BUT he's qualified for next year, and has justified his wild card selection.

I checked the figures and in the last 4 GP's Bomber is only second to Tomasz, in the last 5 he is 3rd behind Tomasz and Greg.

A bit of luck is needed by any rider in this sport. I agree Bomber was lucky to get the nomination but he has proved the doubters wrong this season. I doubted myself that he was going to make a mark on the GP stage - the slick tracks were always going to work against him. However, there is not doubt that Bomber deserved another chance on one aspect of his riding - entertainment. Chris Harris on form and on a decent track is a sight to behold - on his own worth the entrance money! He epitomises everything that's good about the sport when he's in with a chance , as he proved in the playoffs. Opposition fans look forward to seeing him when the Bees come to their stadia. This has been a fantastic season for him. Fingers crossed that he makes top three next year. And from Bees perspective - back to back titles as captain.

But how times have changed when we have to celebrate that one of our riders finished 6th in the world. For many a year that would have been a big disappointment.

He may have only been 6th in the world but he managed to do better than any of the Danes or Swedes managed to. I wonder if they are lamenting 'how times have changed'.

I'm certain Bomber will go on to better things next year.

He's proved he can compete with the very best riders in the world over the course of a season. If he can carry his brilliant form and the confidence that this must have brought him into the start of next season, then things could get very exciting indeed.

There are always going to be people moaning about him on here about him getting a wildcard, despite the fact that he has now proved that he is well worth his place with the world's elite. Ho hum.

Let's be honest, the only reason he got the nomination this year is that he is the best Brit available. No other reason for it.If he was a Dane or a Pole or a Swede he would have been sitting at home come GP weekend watching it on the box.I applaud the fact he has finally got going in the GP's and qualified on his own.But how times have changed when we have to celebrate that one of our riders finished 6th in the world. For many a year that would have been a big disappointment.Hope he manages to build on this, but somehow i doubt it.Let us all gloat about it for now though. We have a rider that has qualified for the GP's next year :approve:

quite right Iris it is a sad reflection of where we currently are.... however credit where credit is due and Bomber is not just 6th... not just 2 points off 4th.... but also with the exception of Gollob the strongest rider in the field in the final third of the season .... in fact only Greg and Nicki P got anywhere near to matching him (as SCB has pointed out)

so should we recognise the chances that he has been given? yes of course... just like we did with Scott and Rico...... should we bang on about it in every single post we make? ... quite honestly no because that would be obsessive, unrealistic, and bitter............

the reality is that he qualified for 2011 on his own merit..... was entertaining along the way (an argument for Kolodziej)...... and lets not forget that this coincided with the first year that Bomber was getting some dirt to suit a racer..... Bomber has been one of a group of racers who Olsen was gradually forcing out due to his personal obsession with slickness

well done Bomber .... and on this form 2011 is an exciting prospect as long as he can maintain and build on this... and im in no doubt he can now that his machinery is 'up to scratch' ..... the tracks are fairer for racers.... and his mentality is now one of a gater and winner

belt up subedei/ladyluck

The only rider in the top nine not to win a GP this season.

He didn't warrant the nomination he received for this season, but fair play to him on making a decent fist of things and finally getting around to qualifying. He should now be able to go back to scratching around and dining on this for a few seasons of nominations. He dined on Cardiff 2007 for long enough.

Don't s'pose you cheered Mark Loram in 2000 either

I think the Danes certainly should be.I said last year that something seemed to have happened and apart from Bjerre coming uo the rest seemed to be going downhil.Hans,Puk,Bjarne and even Nicki. But i reckon they still have more chance of a GP win and even a World Champ next year and for the foreseeable future than England/Britain

I am certain a Danish rider will finish higher in the GPs and will win more GPs next year than any of our riders :P

Harris is just getting to age when things come together for the majority of riders at Grand Prix level. Plenty riders in the past have struggled in there early Grand Prix career before moving up a level. He is still 10 years younger than the World Champion.

The majority of GP riders don’t peak at GP level until later in there career.

But to look on the bright side at least he's giving his last target, Scott Nicholls, a break.
