Div 1 team filbyterna have decided to close their 500cc team.

As the reason they say that they cannot afford to buy an airfence which will be mandatory in div1 from next season.

They will try to start a 80cc activities but its far from certain.

Dackarna have shown interest to sign Linus Eklöf as a guestrider. Linus also have an offer from Hammarby about becoming a guestrider but this offer is dependent on a

exception from the rule that a rider cannot sign as a guestrider for the following season, with the team he was registered with the past season.

Svemo rejected Hammarbys request to make an exception for Linus Eklöf.

Instead Hammarby now signed Andreas Messing as a guestrider.

I think possibly the rule should have been applied differently than what it has been. I can see their way of logic, in stoppng teams with a lot of contracted Swedish riders and putting them as guest riders whilst they fill their other places with foreigners, but I presume they have to come under the points limit? They can only use 8 riders per meeting and can only use one guest rider per meeting anyway, so it seems a bit of a silly rule that just adds problems for riders.

Atleast you're governing body is independant though, and no team has 'demanded' it is discrimative against them! :(

Nothing much positive has been said of their actions either in the past couple of years... If the governing body itself decides to give the boot for 3 of the 4 persons running track racing, it does not mean they've done a good job.

its 7 riders/meeting and maximum 2 guestriders/meeting.

and i also agree with f-s-p Svemo hasn't really been that good lately. Regarding their independence well the teams have an association of their own and

this association is behind many of the suggestions/changes that we see even if Svemo are the ones that, in the end, takes the decision.

Some additional information:

Griparna's final squad also includes Mikkel Michelsen, Miroslaw Jablonski and Sebastian Carlsson according to www.griparna.nu, which leaves them with one guest place left to fill. John Lindman has also signed, as a 0,500 rider.

Gnistorna have included Anton Göthberg and Mattias Nilsson in their 9 rider squad. Six 0,500 riders have also signed, all according to their website.

Örnarna's website have Henrik Gustafsson and Per-Ola Klasson listed, both have averages over 0,500 in Allsvenskan. On the other side, Robin Bergqvist - strangely - isn't listed among their riders. Tomas Olsson, Pontus Nilsson and Kim Åsling are listed, all should have 0,500 averages.
