BigFatDave
How old are these lads, and they must be pretty good and keen to travel 1 million miles across our great desert?? I Will have to go I think. Both Mason & Bryce rode for NSW in the State of Origin series, dirt. Both boys are about 17 and I think someone was telling me at Newcastle at Easter that Mason had had some interest from GB. He rode in the support races there for Ozchamps, against Kozza & Michael Penfold (who had a trial at Glasgow), and was runner-up in the Winter series at Gosford. Can't recall seeing Bryce yet but then I can't recall lots of things!
fullockracingwa
Just to give you good folk some info, the Chum Taylor(solos)& Dennis Nash(sidecars)Foundations are set up to help our local Perth riders in their speedway endevours. All funds raised at the meeting go into a Trust Fund and riders can obtain money through the SMCWA to attend a national meeting or title etc. Every season we bring over to Perth 2 of the brightest young riders from around the country to ride at Pinjar Parks Foundation Cup. Riders such as Darcy Ward, Richard Sweatman, Jake Anderson, Dakota North, Sam Masters and 2009 winner Alex Davies to name a few. All have gone onto bigger and better things world wide and we at the SMCWA are very proud to have given these young speedway riders a chance to experience the thrills of racing the ultra exciting Pinjar Park speedway. Well done fullockracing that is shaping as a good field and thanks for keeping people up to date..long may it continue. Well for no reason other than to bring Pinjar Park back to the top I will give some sort of summary; Mason Campton was unbeaten - I believe and took out the final in the process, from the gate, in blistering fashion. Had an easy smooth style on the tight track and never looked in trouble, and it was hard to believe it was his first look at the circuit. Could be destined for Europe if he wants to, and will have a promising future. No one rides like that first up and doesnt have the ability to dominate in England. Go hard Mason! and keep making it look so simple. Lost the rest of my detailed summary, as my computer is letting me down and keeps freezing, and ive had it! stuffed if I can be stuffed writing it again. quickly Bryce was unlucky and is talented, Smart is no slouch, yeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Wish the Rob Woffinden Classic was tonight. Also good to see the new pit area and massive improvements to the pit area etc. You can view the action from anywhere, just like old Northline. Take note MonmoreGreen. And the smell of the fumes is better from the other side, so its all good. Must be the wind.

Wanderers put 60 points on Southern Districts, Saints did Bombers by 4 goals and the Mighty WARATAHS put 8 goals on the Tigers. Bavarian
Let me ask something. It's nice to see meetings staged at that tiny little Pinjar Park oval, but don't You WA guys long for riding on a bigger track? Are there any other tracks for solos to ride in WA, because the only track I read about is Pinjar Park and at 142m length this is even smaller than Coast Mesa in USA, the most famous of those mini speedways. What is this other track were they hold the WA State title this year? We never hear anything about it!

Are there any other tracks for solos to ride in WA, because the only track I read about is Pinjar Park and at 142m length this is even smaller than Coast Mesa in USA, the most famous of those mini speedways. What is this other track were they hold the WA State title this year? We never hear anything about it! Last year they had a few meetings including the WA Championships on the huge Ellenbrook track in Perths outer suburbs. Mixing it up for the riders I spose, as the last few were at Pinjar Park. This year I believe they are mixing it up more, by staging the title at Karratha, which is north a fair bit, a country town I believe, which is a big or huge track. 530 or so meters. Last year the WA Titles were a great event on the big track for a bit of difference, but wasnt a magical standard of racing, as the riders werent used to or the track wasnt used to bikes and the riders were mostly locals, Plus it was hard to find a good spot to view the racing so it was hard to get a feel for it. They did get better as the track got better and really wound it on during the middle stages and towards the end, but as its such a massive track, its not that good for the spectators. IMO You cant have the best of everything. Pinjar has brilliant close up viewing areas, and most of the track is in good view whereas Ellenbrook had little raised viewing areas and so as of its size, the bikes basically wizzed past you and were hard to see until they came around again. So to answer your question: No - I've got over it. There arent too many perfect tracks in the world and it will do. They are planning to build a bigger track out the back area...but not overnight. For the minute it is a good enough challenge for most riders...hence why many of them return IMO. I actually like it now. It's all about Respect. Great track.
