Silver Bee
It might only be a demonstration but the chance to see Loram on a bike again might be a bit too much to say no too.

keef
notice its all Aussie riders? thought they would want to have a break and come back home. Swindon and England have had all year to say goodbye and support Leigh Adams. These indv farewell meetings would be better off at the beginning of the season so riders can have a skid before the season starts and test machinery and tune bikes and blow out the cob webs. Why would the riders evan try? just my reckoning of course but March/April in the sun, like Billy Hammills Farewell at Wolves makes more sense. Im sure the england fans will flock in and pack the joint to see Aussie riders ride an indiv meeting. 8 Aussies confirmed at present, so only half the field ...should be a big crowd at the Stade de lite for the great man's last appearance. 20 degrees at mo but it's bound to be bloody raining and freezing this Sunday. Hope not as LA deserves a big send-off, top scorer in British speedway, never out of the top 3 in the Elite averages, and probably 2nd. best Robins rider ever behind the great Briggo. There were 4000 at last years 60th. Anniversary meet(was a stronger field though), and although the line-up is weaker than the Bob Kilby Memorial would expect a decent size crowd from all over the UK for this one, with a big contingent of Poles. Are you for real?....had all year?....who do you think organised these meetings?....certainly wasnt Swindon its Leigh and his crew of many helpers who have organised a 'FAREWELL' meeting....yes 'FAREWELL'.....would seem a little poinltess at the start of a farewell season and certainly not poignant!...and before you reply with suggesting the start of next season there is a small matter of Leigh and family being available?! Btw the meeting isnt a pointless opening season 'cobweb blowoff' but one of 3 meetings to mark an illustrious career and a significant chance for Leighs many club fans from Swindon and Leszno to pay there respects as well as genuine speedway fans....oh btw never realised Balinski Pavlic Loram Karger Holta etc were Australian! Main Man
I am sure Leigh won't mind me giving a blatant plug as we will plug his meeting on Sunday afternoon as well ....but if you fancy a double dose of methanol on Sunday we have the National League Play-Off semi-final 2nd leg Newport WESSEX BUS Hornets v Bournemouth with a 1pm start ----which should give everyone plenty of time to travel up the M4 to Swindon for the meeting as well. I'm sure a gentleman like Leigh wont but some of us reading this will think you are bang out of order hijacking his thread for your own publicity. theres a time and a place and this imo is neither

Howard Devoto
I'm shocked that Leigh has apparently pulled out of the EORC which is the day before his Farewell. Not the best way to end his career here. Does this mean he also wont be riding in his Farewell meeting? I wasn't sure which £20 meeting to go to but now I'll spend my £20 at the EORC as despite the withdrawals, it looks a better line up and the guys should really be racing. Leigh Adams has done MORE than enough for British Speedway in his time in this country. Bang out of order to be critical of him for pulling out of the “ELRC”. Leigh was always a team rider and could have ridden in the ELRC and had a honest meeting that meant something and he could try and win. Have a farewell for leigh at the end a final farewell Do and party after meeting is over. No matter how much Leigh deserves a big send off The paying public of England dont like individual meetings at the best of times and it is just stretching the friendship IMO, with the Aussies already doing the Poland farewell, and prob gonna do the Mildura one as well! thats 3 farewell meaningless meetings for the riders??? OR Change the whole lineup in England farewell meeting, from the Poland one? Wheres Crump, Sullivan?? etc?

keef
Gathercole and Parker replace Balinski and Pavlic. Crumpie has op on his arm Friday or Saturday.
Steve Shovlar
Not an inspiring lineup to get folks to turn up. But I hope the place is packed to say goodbye to an EL star.
Crazy robin
Not an inspiring lineup to get folks to turn up. But I hope the place is packed to say goodbye to an EL star. For once i agree with you Steve & the sad part is that it's getting less inspiring by the day as rider after rider drop out with Crumpie really dissapointing as he's very close to Leigh. That said i'll be there as i've been spending my money to watch him in a poor team all season so another meeting won't change those habits. Just thought there would be a better turn out for the great mans farewell really & at least we might finally get to see Rune Holta in action before him signing as a Robin in 2011.
