f-s-p
Says on a website that Jason Crump was present at Poznan and has said he's not gonna ride ice racing. What a wuss! According to urbandictionary.com that means "Often a male person with low courage factor."

iris123
Don't forget in just under an hour the second day of the Russian Final will be shown live.Stream running now....showing track prep Should be another great meeting, even if one or two riders have dropped out due to injury. And the entertainment is fantastic between the heats as well Russian Final Ht 2 and Nikolai again loses out in the first turn and can't do anything against Kononov and Makarov!!! Ht3 and Dimon should have had that but lost out on the last bend to I.Ivanov. :(How the hell Vitali lose that after Daniil was left sleeping at the gate??? The meeting today hasn't got the spark that yesterdays had, sadly.Bit of a gap opening up between the top and bottom. Not a lot of strength in depth with a couple of riders out and others like Tschajka not here 1. Ja-Jacek
Can this be classified as the season's biggest shocker, Krasnikov not winning? I don't think so. Krasnikov NEVER won the russian final, if it was organised on his home track in Ufa! In 2002 he felt seriously on track in the beginning of competition, in 2006 he took bronze medal, in 2008 silver... Today no gold, too. Maybe tradition? However, the fact he qualified means everyone else will be thinking "7?" If Krasnikov does win 7 on the trot, he will be one of only two riders to win an FIM World Championship seven times in succession. The other person is GB & Silsden's own Dougie Lampkin who won 7 trials World Championships in a row. Other riders have won more World Championships, but not consecutively. iris123
Well i have often thought that at this stage in the proceedings Nikolai has helped his Ufa colleagues out.More often than not Bulankin. So i wouldn't put too much into the fact he didn't win this or previous titles. He was lacking sharpness in the first turn.I would guess when push come to shove for the title he won't be so lackadaisical.I won't be betting against him, even having seen this performance Anyone know the attendance?Didn't look that many, but they could have mainly been standing on the same side as the camera Edited January 9, 2011 by iris123

Ja-Jacek
Anyone know the attendance?Didn't look that many, but they could have mainly been standing on the same side as the camera Russian fans wrote on his forum, that it was about 3-4 thousand people on "Stroitiel" Stadium. During translation I recognize, that most of spectators prefere a tribune close to the start gate...And the camera was on the same side. Conkers
Is that the first time they have split the Ivanov brothers up in a quali?I thought the Ivanov's and Khomitsevitch's seemed to travel as a pair. But maybe my memeory is playing up I think you are right - but there are two Togliatti riders (Ivanov and Karchintsev) in this round, so that might answer you're question. Karachintsev was in the Ivanov camp in Assen last year, and they were with him when he rode on the Friday night. I think he's 18 or 19 so maybe Ivan keeps an eye on him? The Russian blokes will make it I guess; so Bulankin, Ivanov and Karachintsev plus Zorn and Serenius (if he stays on his bike) or Klabo or Tuinstra Johnny has been riding well so far, but The Netherlands are guaranteed a qualifier so it's Johnny or Holstein as their nominee unless they both get through on merit, and/or Rene Stellingwerf does well and they get three.
