Thanks for detailed info once more Conkers, you're one of an elite core of valued 'correspondents' in the international section.

Regards tv coverage the World Championships,it seems that the Red Bull channel in Austria has coverage of the previous rounds and will transmit them along with the forthcoming rounds.Just seen that if you click on the second link on the page you can view the channel live.....so that looks promising

TV dates

Good to get the first meeting of the season under my belt last night.Pretty good racing from the top 6 or 7.Pletschacher was taken out spectacularly by Hendersson on the straight.Must have been very lucky the way he hit the bales and he was up in no time.Walking with a limp at the end,but i thought that was his lot for the weekend.Bauer a class above the rest and the team will miss his points if not his presence tomorrow :P

Leitner in third place apparently in heat 20 when he packed up. Jacqueline says it's a very expensive point for Austria!

Russians aren't running away with it though. The Austrians are giving them a run, and Franky Zorn is top scorer today with 17

Thanks to Jacqueline at the track for the updates!

Nice job Team Austria!! Hope to see some good points tomorrow also.

Have to say that I was a bit suprised tonight. There was a report of last weekends Finnish Championship Final.

Just saw it myself online. I hate these reports that start by explaining the basics. Why not come to the tracks more often and keep the people informed... It was OK.

On the Berlin front I wonder whats happened with Harald Simon? Has he won the lottery or something? Challenging the Russians the EC final and a good score today.

Lehtinen made his comeback in Berlin, after I was told numerous times that his season is finished. Weird people these track racing riders, I guess the only way they will not ride (or nurse themselves to full fitness) is if they are dead.

:

Simon has been around a while and I think the time he spent training in Russia has increased his confidence. From all accounts had he not clipped the bales in his last ride in Russia he would have been European Champion.

He is getting better every time I see him ride.

Maybe the Assen and Inzell rounds will see a "comeback" by the likes of Zorn, Bauer, Svensson and Simon.

Some fotos

World Ice Racing Team Championship-Berlin

Great weekend. Some nasty stuff happening out on the track that needs to be stamped out by the ref.Unfortunately Istvan Darago isn't the right person for that job.Really impressed by Mats Järf though. And despite carrying a couple of injuries Pletschacher had some good races as well. Both battled hard and entertained the crowd. No Conkers + no rain!! Wonder if that is a coincidence or not? :P

Some nice pictures there - as for the rain, if it rains in the middle weekend of March we know that's monsoon season :)
