Conkers
Are you saying that Togliatti would only be allowed two riders in any one quali? No, but with five Togliatti riders going through from the Russian Final there was going to be at least two at two of the qualifying rounds. There is also the possibility the MFR thought sending Karachintsev with someone he would know would benefit him. DutchGrasstrack
The two meetings in Flims (Switzerland) are both called off because of the hot weather. The KNMV got an extra place in the Sanok WC Qualifier and Sven Holstein is going to race there. René Stellingwerf will race in Saalfelden (if a miracle happens). The last Dutch place in Saalfelden hasn't been announced yet. --- EDIT: Oh it has been announced . René Stellingwerf, Simon Reitsma will both race in Saalfelden with Gerrit Schukken and René Verhoef as reserve. iris123
4 quid is certainly a bargain if you live in the area.....but i have to smile at Jouni Sepännens comment about the meeting in Poznan at the weekend....."3,000 km for 5 minutes racing" The iceracers do have a hard time on the road for very little actual racing... f-s-p
Kai Lehtinen (hurt his back in the Finnish final -09) hurt it again in the Finnish training camp before christmas and is ruled out (waiting for surgery) for the rest of the season. Antti Aakko fell on sunday in the Elitserien match and hurt his hand. The "jury" wont come out until early next week regarding his season... It looks kind of bad for competiteve ice racing in Finland. EDIT: Changes to Togliatti: Timo Kankkunen and Antti Aakko for the EC semi and Jussi Nyrönen for the final. Ja-Jacek
Who knows - what's wrong with Aanti Aakko? Why is he absent on all of three line-up to QR? Maybe he will suddenly ride as an Ukrainian?

St. Johann is natural it is on the speedway track, but the problem was the pit area, not the track for practice yesterday. I've not ridden Saalfelden before but I'm lead to belive it is natural as well, I will know for definate after next week. Thanks for the suport, I have had a problem with my hand since my 1st race at Gniezno hopefully a weekends rest will help.
