Polish Ekstraliga Playoffs 25/8/10

Recommended Posts

I think it'll be Zielona Gora versus Leszno in the final, which would be a bit of a local derby. No love lost between the Falubaz Hools and Leszno, as some forumites discovered a few seasons ago when they took in a meeting between the two clubs after a Polish GP. However, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Torun gave Leszno a bit of a fright in the semi-final.

Leszno v Torun... Leszno, I think.

ZG v Wroclaw... ZG, I guess, but it's a big unknown. ZG seem strong at the moment but Wroclaw beat them twice in the main part of the season so everything's possible.

Looks like Ward might be released from Torun LOL! :')

His average for the Season is 3.69 from 9 meetings; 1,467 at the MotoArena per ride [equating to 5.86], and 0,583 away per ride [equating to 2.33].

It's hardly earth-shattering stuff, but I still don't think Torun will release Darcy completely from their squad. I think that'd be an un-wise thing to do, as he clearly has potential. He's just struggled this season for consistency, and consequently might find himself out of a regular ride in the Ekstraliga 2011 if Jepsen-Jensen continues his rise to prominence.

If Emil Pulczynski continues to ride as he did against Wroclaw as well, then Torun might think that using Jepsen-Jensen is less of a risk - although his average from 8 meetings is well above 5 itself!

Ward clearly has bags of potential, but it looks like his attitude and approach are being questioned in Poland. I don't know how long a contract Ward signed with Torun. If it was just for this season, then maybe Ward will see if the grass is greener elsewhere, especially if Pulczynski continues where he left off against Wroclaw (taking rides away from Ward). If it was a multiple-season contract, then I don't think Torun would be wise to let him go, especially if Pulczynski's performance on Wednesday was just a "flash in the pan".
