Jayne
Merely as a matter of interest if Jay could fit back in average wise is it not the same scenario as Tim at Newport and would be allowed to ride? Jules In theory yes but as with all team changes they have to be ratified by the BSPA/MC and there is 'transfer deadline' to take into account although that isn't the phrase used in the rule book. lily
There's no agenda. Just seems rather harsh that riders returning from injury(and of course I'd include, for example, Jon Armstrong in that...) can't apparently go back into their original teams without it being deemed in contravention of a 'transfer deadline'. I'm sure most people looking in from the outside would consider that a very strange and regrettable state of affairs No No No Parloes. You are off the mark big time. I am a big Jay Herne fan but you have lost your way. Jayne has just clearly pointed out the facts which are obvious for everyone in the outside world with the exception of you. You cannot just slide in a rider because it suits you.
stressed
Jay was injured riding for Somerset before the Buccs got going so technically he should be classed as a free agent as he hasn't ridden for a National League club in 2010, do you not agree? Parsloes 1928 nearly
According to Speedway News Feed Jay Herne replaces Robbie Kessler in the Rockets team as of now. Ah right, knocks out the theory that Jay wouldn't be up to NL racing! And I assume there's no "transfer deadline" in the PL... Or is it in fact what I said that adding Jay to a team didn't after al breach any 'transfer' rules..?!
stressed
Wildcats looking for a new No1? I think any team who could fit Jay in would be silly not to consider him for a NL berth Good luck to him at Rye in the PL, just keep away from those damn fences around the tracks

The rule is quite simple. 17.4.4 No Team changes will be allowed after 15th September except for Riders returning to the Team after injury. 21st century heathen
The MC oversee all moves and can do what they like regardless of the rules which is one of many things wrong with the sport in this country.

Right. So why then earlier were they people claiming that Jay returning to the Buccs line-up (and yes, I know he was injured before making an appearance this season BUT he was named in the Buccs squad AND had ridden there throughout last year so it IS his team..!)was in breach of the transfer rules..? Wouldn't be certain other teams running scared of the Buccs now that they're in the play-offs would it!!!

Parsloes 1928 nearly
Even if Play-Offs are 'scheduled' next week though, there is no way that we can fit our semi-final in until October at the earliest as we have the KOC semi final next week, the pointless league match against Weymouth the following week (does that even need to be run now, with what will surely be a much lower than average crowd??) and then the Golden Hammer on the 28th September. Sure enuff here's how the Dudley site reports it..: DUDLEY Heathens have set the date for the home leg of their all-important National League play-off semi-final with Buxton Hitmen. The former Cradley club will race at Wolverhampton's Monmore Green Stadium on Tuesday, October 5 .... Chairman Nigel Pearson said: "It's good that we have been able to sort the play-off date so quickly with Buxton.." Hmm, well considering the authorities insisted on a 12 Sept. deadline for NL matches, I can't say that 5 October is what I'd describe as "so quickly"...!! No date announced yet for Newport/Buccs... shad176
obviously quicker than newport/buccs

Parsloes 1928 nearly
So the restaging of this double header (Rye House & Kings Lynn) takes place this Sunday although now meaningless in terms of the playoffs. The Buccs website says Bournemouth redeclare their side again for this weekend and to try and make a fist of it against Newport in the play off semi. Jerran Hart & Aaron Baseby go out with Jay Herne & Ritchie Worrall coming in - doesn't look like they will hand on their League title without a fight. Hmm, so after all the folk on here saying it couldn't (I think they meant "shouldn't"..!) be done, there HAS been a re-jigging of the Buccs team to bring back Jay. Hmm, about as hard as it must be for you (and all the others who were so adamant it wouldn't happen... ) to eat humble pie seeing that Jay HAS returned to ride for the Buccs! Or was his appearance in yesterday's double header a mirage!!!

The change has now been made somewhat strange by signing a rider who was unavailable to ride

Several on here dismissed the 'legality' of this too. I have to say I'm rather baffled by the Richie Worrall situation..: is he eligible or not..? If the latter how come he did ride yesterday..?! lucifer sam
Looks like the Rye House Cobras have lost a place in the play-offs, due to the early cut-off date. Three points from their final home fixture will take them above Bournemouth into fourth place in the final league table. All the best Rob

Even though I throw my lot in with the Buccs these days, I think it is utterly wrong that the play-off deadline wasn't extended. Ironically that final match is against Plymouth and the right result for the Devils would lift THEM (rather than the Cobras) into 4th. All in all it's a match which would be decisive and the league's been denied it... But note that the first play-off matches won't be until October even though the authorities decided to stick with the 12/9 deadline...!!
