davidba
At the moment BBC Weather site says heavy rain Friday; sunny Saturday (NL4s) and heavy rain Sunday (NLRC)..! It's called hedging one's bets and frankly means absolutely sod all!! May change plans and attend Saturday instead if the present forecasts dont change. Can't go without speedway for a second weekend! It's called hedging one's bets and frankly means absolutely sod all!! The forecast has won the battle for me, Derek Its a long way to go for a possible rain off and really only worthwhile if I could see both meetings. I am not a big fan of Rye House but with young Mr Evans riding both Saturday & Sunday and Bob C attending (along with perhaps one or two acquaintances from Mildenhall & Plymouth)I decided to go. Rain on both Saturday and Sunday now means I will stay home instead.

What the next two days will give us who knows really... Forecast was reasonably optimistic for tomorrow (fours day..) but very poor for Sunday (and the NLRC); but could be equally bad (or even better..!) for both, who knows!! It's called hedging one's bets and frankly means absolutely sod all!! Not wanting to be side-tracked into a debate here but I find that a strange comment. It would represent a perfectly 'normal' pattern for this time of year. ------------------------------------------- Can anyone more familiar with the NL and PL explain the following to me please? 17.4.7.1 Where a Rider is declared in both a PL & NL Team, then if the NL Team pays a Loan Fee, the NL Team shall have 1st call on the Rider. That rule would seem to indicate that Lee Smart could ride for us (as I assume a loan fee was agreed), but he's not. It would seem a strange decision to me for Will to choose not to use Lee if he is available to us. Genuine question.

It would represent a perfectly 'normal' pattern for this time of year. The point I'm making from often viewing the Met Office website from a period five days before a meeting is that if it says it'll be dry in five days time, it often as not changes to rain by a day or so before; and vice versa. So whatever may be typical in reality in October weather-wise, what is also typical is that it's all but pointless to be taking any advance notice (and by advance I mean five or four days before...) as to what the Met office site 'predicts'...! dukes
If common sense had prevailed, then the obvious decision would have been to hold a double header on the saturday. Provision for sunday if a rain off occured. All in all would have suited a far wider audience and a large crowd. The expense for the fans has not been taken into consideration. Simon Lambert for NLRC and Buxton to take the Fours.
WembleyLion
Just seen the latest BBC forecast which was far from promising for both meetings.
Storming Norman
Looking at the 4s line ups I really fancy this. Worryingly the weather forecast for tonight seems to have changed!
Bryn
Meetings (both today and tomorrow) POSTPONED. Provisionally rescheduled for October 16/17 although that's subject to future official confirmation. Edited October 2, 2010 by Bryn
Storming Norman
Surely won't be allowed to run on 16 Oct against a shared event 65 miles done the road - the ERC?

brewer
all very well , but surely with buxton v dudley tba, newport v kings lynn tba (both postponed recently) plus newport v bournemouth p/o dates to be set, fitting all this in is going to be difficult
Bryn
These meetings will now BOTH take place at Rye House on Saturday October 16, starting with the Fours at 2pm. The NLRC will follow immediately afterwards.
brewer
the fours now a shortened 8 race format, (bspa site) what a joke this comp has been this year, scrap it and just run the nlrc and has been mentioned now clashes with elrc, sorry but werent weymouth refused permission to run against a shared event today Edited October 2, 2010 by brewer

If you look back there were no PL matches when the PLRC was on but NL racing took place, similarly with the PL Fours.
kog
But now, for example I was planning on making the NLRC tomorrow and the EORC on the 16th, The starting time of therescheduled meeting is not really going to make that possible now, but then again, the EORC is not really the meeting we were told about on the 7th of July is it? Having taken so much trouble to schedule the October meetings on Sundays, I find it a strange decision to now move this combined event to a Saturday afternoon. Should the Rockets prevail over Kings Lynn, surely Len isn't proposing to run a second meeting the following day.
