crazysue
Is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the updates site? If so, could you please either leave a message here or send me an email or pm. Thanks
Wessex Wanderer
Went to this one primarily to see Tom Armstrong and there was very strong talk on the terraces that he was to be the Wildcats new signing so it was more than a bit disappointing all round when it was announced he was stuck in traffic at Southampton. Also very strong terrace talk that he was to replace Ricahrd Andrews once he was signed - not a popular runour at all as the young Andrews has won many admirers with his steady progress over the season. I know these were rumours but they were VERY strong ones and were backed up by some face book comments. Anyway, to the match - outstanding for the Wildcats was the aforementioned Richard Andrews who put in his best performance of the season, beating a number of more experienced opponents. Adam McKinna was again always among the action and has become a fan favourite since his recent signing. The Saxons (nicely turned out in proper race jackets by the way - well done the Lapworths) were very much a 4 man team but their strong finish gave them a deserved win. Jake Anderson was probably their best rider and Brendan Johnson came on strong with some very determined riding in the latter stages. Entertaining enough evening but a worringly low crowd for any meeting at Weymouth in the middle of August.
nick@TSL
Who is Tom Armstrong? does he exist, have also heard rumours about him being Wildcats new signing and Newport press release shows him at number 2 for the meeting at Newport this weekend. Just being curious, Jon Armstrongs actual name is Thomas Jon Armstrong.
BobC
Entertaining enough for a Challenge match.Anderson rode very well, and although Brendan scored well,he didnt look too comfortable out there.I have really appreciated Adam McKinnas efforts since signing.Shame he will be missing next Saturday v Plymouth. Tom Armstrong didnt appear beacuse he has visa problems. He even said so on his Facebook page!! The race jackets used by Tamworth were the Weymouth Wizards! As I left,I was told that Karl Mason has been signed in time for Sundays meeting at Newport.Cottham stands down for that one. matias
So does anyone actually know what is happening with Tom Armstrong/ Richard Andrews/ Gary Cottham? as Tom is down as the wildcats no.2 for sunday, Gary cottam is no longer signed for Weymouth acording to the BSPA official line-ups page, and Richard Andrews is not declared in the line up for sunday, yet is still a Weymouth rider. All seems very confusing to me

All seems very confusing to me See Wildcats website Tom Armstrong has visa problems so is not signing. Gary Cottham stands down for JUST one week. Karl Mason returns to Weymouth and rides as does Richard Andrews at Newport tomorrow.
BongoBrian
A huge big well done to Colin Mackie who stood in as Tamworth Manager for an impressive win. I think that Stuart Dixon has a very able deputy in his midst at Glasgow every Sunday. Brilliant win Colin
Tim Templeton
It was good to hear the name of Tamworth at Weymouth last night, but what was the reason for not having race jackets for the meeting? Surely this is an absolute basic for the presentation of the meeting, so I presume there is a good reason. Enjoyed the racing, and a special mention to Richard Andrews. What a cracking performance by him. Tim.
Wessex Wanderer
See Wildcats website Tom Armstrong has visa problems so is not signing. As a lifelong Pompey fan I must say it is extremely comforting to know that people now need a visa to get out of Southampton! Sorry Tim - just couldn't resist that one. SarahLapworth
I know this is ahead of your plan, but is the intention to get a track going in the Tamworth area ? Well I'm never going to say never after last night First of all a big thank you and well done goes to Colin Mackie for filling in at short notice and doing a fantastic job and also the 6 riders who gave it their all for Tamworth. The Tamworth project will certainly go ahead next year. We will start with some second halves and then progress to full 15 heat challenges like last night. I still want to continue the Viking's but we may shorten that to 2 tours next year at the start and end of the season to allow us to concentrate on the Tamworth team. As to building a track in Tamworth its very early days. There are a couple of possible sites but ideally I want to get the Tamworth name established first and build up a fan base before such a task is undertaken plus we don't have the deep pockets to fund a new track just yet ideally we would be looking for a financial backer to help us. One option would be to track share but before we even think about entering a full national league team we need to make sure that the whole project is viable. thank you for your support UP THE SAXONS!!! SteveEvans
Great work Kelvin and Sarah - I know what it takes to get this stuff planned and my hope is you do end up one day soon having your own track.
