Speedy swindon pete
What a load of fuss about nothing. both were racing incidents caused by 2 riders going for it, neither were particularly dirty but unfortunately it caused a big crash in one of them. Grow up kids...
Dogstar
Seems that THJ is a bit bashed up but sitting in the pits and suffering mild concussion. Sounds as though Nicholls was taken to the infirmary with suspected whiplash injuries. Hope both are ok soon.
MARK246
Bit over the top Thats how he tried to ride. His interview at the start of the meeting showed how he felt about being in the reserve spot, for the "first time since I was 17." He had a point to prove tonight, but over did it on the track. Beeone
What a pathetic thread, do we get a new one every time there is a crash in a speedway meeting anywhere, or just when it is a chance to take a pop at Scott Nicholls. Did anyone see the state of Sheilds' bike after THJ had finished with it in the first running? There were more spokes missing than were left. No-one started a thread about that did they!! Edit; - this really should not be in the Elite league section should it, it was in Sweden. Edited August 10, 2010 by Beeone
M.D
THJ was out of order after taking Shields out in the first running of heat 5 (Shields front wheel had 12 spokes broken) and Shields was fined for his complaints!!! The race was run 3 times, first when THJ took out Shields, second time when Scott was a bit hard on him and they both came down.. Third time, THJ looked towards Nicholls before the tapes went up and just went for him, Disgusting from the lad, end of...

His interview at the start of the meeting showed how he felt about being in the reserve spot, for the "first time since I was 17." He had a point to prove tonight, but over did it on the track. Scott obviously forgot that he has ridden at reserve for Vargarna earlier this season then! Of the incidents in heat 5 I feel THJ should have been excluded for knocking off Adam Shields in the first running of the race. Scott was probably a little fortunate not to go in the rerun although all three back was arguable and indeed this is what the ref decided. In the second rerun I thought the main fault was with THJ again and indeed the referee excluded him this time. As others have said these were simply racing incidents. Anyway I hope both riders quickly recover and are racing again soon. Niclas
nothing, was all THJs fault, Interesting, plenty of fans in Sweden have another opinion. They blame Scott for the accident as he tries to give THJ an elbow to get in front of him. Unfortunately, THJ will probably not ride in Malilla as he has got a severe concussion. I guess Jonas D or Antonio will replace him.
Druid
Sounds like "Danigust" has a right hard on over Nicholls right now, but really was a thread necessary it does not concern the EL anyway.
Ipswich Jules
As I watched it on a stream, here is my view on it (and without any Ipswich / UK / Scott Nicholls bias): Basically in the original running Shields was going round THJ, THJ went wider and wider all too late, his dirt deflector went into Adams front wheel then the edge of his rear wheel went in which is where all the spokes got taken out, Shields went down and was excluded - wrong call in my opinion In the rerun Scott was off gate 1, THJ off 2, both got to the first bend at about the same time, plenty of barging between them on the way there, Scott looked out for revenge to be honest, nothing between them going round the bend, THJ was leaning massively on Scott mid-bend, Scott picked up some grip and straightened up (probably due to THJ leaning on his rear wheel!) and Scott pretty much T-boned THJ causing him to go off and hit get sucked under the airfence, what was funny was how THJ got up in a rage and looked like he wanted to go and lump Scotty - that would of been no contest! All three back and Scott pretty lucky to get that, in the third rerun it's the same again from the gate, THJ turns left into the bend very early trying to clamp Scott on the kerb but he simply wasn't infront enough to do it - less than a wheel length I'd say - again this straightens Scott up which flings Scott off his bike, he does a mid-air cartwheel and goes into the fence with his bike following him in, THJ also goes off infront of his bike Scott is soon up and looking a little sore, whilst walking off the track with Danny King, Jason Crump comes out (captain of THJ's team) and has a go at Scott, in an interview with Crump afterwards he blames Scott and said he should of shut off the throttle and if Crump was the ref he'd of excluded him, but Crump isn't the ref and it was THJ who was excluded (rightfully so) THJ stays down and leaves the track in a ambulance but after a check at the hospital he is back in the pits later in the evening, Scott sat in his pits looking in discomfort and asked to goto the hospital for a once over, they suspect whiplash and maybe a cracked/broken rib. Worth mentioning that no, Scott DIDN'T go over to see how THJ was when he was walking back to the pits - mainly because THJ was being treated by the medical staff which is entirely reasonable! Dekker
Third time, THJ looked towards Nicholls before the tapes went up and just went for him, Disgusting from the lad, end of... Rose tinted specs methinks, Nicholls drifted slightly outwards and they clashed, no ones particular fault.

The other question is how did Thj get near other riders ? Re the Russian incident - you obviously only saw what happened on the track with helmets on ! (beaten up that really is a joke!) I sincerely hope that both riders are OK and fit to take their places in their respective teams on Monday, should be interesting.
