Rye havent held a Senior FIM meeting though. AFAIK its only Grand Prix related and World Cup meetings that require the air fence. That said Rye is far too small and viewing would be partly blocked off around the bends if an air fence was erected there. Then the fact the Rye fence has gotta be one of the safest in the country, it certainly doesnt need "padding up".

Yep, only U21 meetings so far... Len Silver said an air fence at Rye would ruin the view for a large number of the crowd... The Rye House catch fence does a fine job

I think you'll find that the air fence was only put up on Monday because it was a FIM/BSI event and an air fence is required?...only guessing here you understand, I could be wrong! Plus, the air fence was apparently Peterborough's, not ours. The air fence we obtained when Oxford shut (think it came from them?) doesn't fit the track properly (apparently).
