scribbler
Don't think its a threat this time, he hates constant complaints and adding to nearly every meeting running at a loss I don't blame him. As I said before I will miss the Buccs if they go. I haven't been able to time visits to Wimbourne Road with visits to my parents (I followed Poole Pirates in the 1970s) but I presume that complaints about the track have been justified if the same care is not taken as with an EL meeting... and the penny-piching on programmes... Some Promoters run at a loss to gain the benefits of bringing on and signing potential riders for their other team. Unfortunately Poole is not known for using British riders... Buxton should held up as an example of how to run an NDL team. They do not over pay riders and they must treat them fairly otherwise nobody would ride for them - and look how successful they are this season... and they deserve it! So I suppose that I do still blame Matt... expecting to pay for success without respecting supporters enough to sell them decent programmes and not giving riders or supporters a decently prepared track to watch/ride... Parsloes 1928 nearly
That's just pain daft... He has had far more criticism from fans and managements in the EL - remembering last year's problems etc... Though he did threaten to go PL about this time last year. Whenever he's not getting his own way he threatens all manner of things. It's more likely he's sulking because Bournemouth are not top of the NDL... but there's no lower league for him to threaten to move too. I do wish Matt would grow up... Hmm, not for the first time a totally out of order comment.. You follow a club which operating in a higher league (PL) also wholeheartedly supports the third tier. Poole alone of ALL Elite clubs does so too. You are the first to (over-) react to any slight criticism of Scunny (though actually it's more often you criticising virtually every other club..! ), yet you constantly stick the knife into the Bournemouth promotion... I for one will be very upset if Poole abandon this initiative but I sympathise with Matt, as there HAS been nothing but criticism from certain quarters. The Buccs won the League last year just like Scunny and Mildenhall and others have done in the past - with a strong team, but by no means an 'obviously' strong team from the off... This year they've again been a credit to the NL and to its credibility. It's disappointing to see the disproportionate and misguided criticism of the Bournemouth operation on here... Attack the post not the poster please... My comments are how I perceive them. I would be sorry to lose the Buccs - but I am equally aware that Buxton, for one, are a well respected, well run club and I tend to use them as an example of how an NDL Speedway club should be run... Er, so you haven't actually been to see a home Bournemouth meeting but you're confident enough to assert that the track for them isn't "decently prepared"..?! Hmm, funny enuff if I hadn't seen a track I'd have no comment to make about it... In this case I've seen numerous Buccs home meetings and they've always been excellent from a track and a racing perspective. And then there's the programme..! Strange that the Buccs' stand-alone prog. walked off with the Star's NL prog. of the year last season (ahead of the one I edit, Mildenhall's). The stand-alone Buccs effort this year has maintained such high-standards.. Yet you believe that this too isn't a "decent programme"... Let me guess, you've not seen that either.... izzym
Aaron Baseby has got a real attitude problem. There hasnt been a meeting at Bmth this season when he hasnt remonstrated with an opposition rider at some point.Last night he claimed that Simmonds had cut him up in Ht4,(I found out later)What utter claptrap. He was simply out manouvred by a far superior rider. Then for Mark Baseby to get involved in something he didnt know anything about(he was too far out in front)is plain stupid. It was only finger wagging and shouting till he arrived.Grow up Aaron. To have you as Captain is a joke, surely? Has it ever occurred to you that maybe no-one else wanted the captaincy?
