brandonbee48
yep that is correct, the track is called Orion Parken (The Orion park and Orion meaning the star Orion) the team is called Stjärnorna (the stars). The track is situated in Hallstavik, about 110km north of Stockholm, in the region called Roslagen. The track is the sortest track in Sweden with its 289m. Thank you for the expert info, both of you. I see it is now on offer again, so can watch again without the freezing. Till the next time-Poland on Sunday, bye guys. Alan.
Leicester Lion
Hope you get your team back next year. I spent many years going over to Blackbird Road watching Jack Geran, Bryan Elliot and of course dear old Ken McKinlay. Best. Alan. I'm too young to have seen Jack Geran and Bryan Elliot, although my dad used to tell me about them. Ken McKinlay was a regular at Blackbird Road even after he stopped racing; I recall leaving the stadium one evening and seeing him rolling around in a bus shelter after overdoing his birthday celebrations. It's all systems go for the new stadium. Only a couple of weeks ago it was just grassy parkland with white lines marking out the track. There is still a lot of work to do, but progress has been very fast and a lot of earth has been shifted. It'll be basic at first, but provided people don't expect too much I'm sure improvements will follow. I hope there will be some sort of speedway meeting there late this year, but I'll be delighted to see the team take to the track next March. I am probably of the same generation as your dad. BrandonBee48 was the year my dad first took me to see Coventry, so it follows that i am now 66, but just as enthusiastic about the BEST sport of all. Once a fan, always a fan. The video streaming and the help of people like Racers and Royals now gives me a terrific variety of meetings. Poland and Sweden provide such fabulous entertainment on Sundays and Tuesdays. With Leicester reopening, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Coventry and the glimmer of hope for Dudley(Cradley) you can revive the Midland League!!. Regards. brandonbee48
Just checked Daniel is Lars son Lars spent all his british career at Poole apart from his first season he rode for Sheffield. Watching it again on replay-they apologise on the web-site, by the way, for the quality of the transmission, i was really impressed with young Daniel Gunnestad. He scored 13, paid 14 and looks a real chip off the old block. Like father, like son and the successor to Rune Holta, who is , to me still Norwegian , though i totally understand why he did it. It will be nice to follow Daniel's progress. Regards. Alan.
brandonbee48
When it has finished i am going to send them an e-mail letting them know about the freezing. Not complaining at all, just so they know. They may not be aware and may not be able to do anything about it, but a "techie" may be able to "up" their stream possibly. I have no idea about this stuff. I just marvel that i can watch this from a small town in the USA. I think they are very innovative in doing this and want to see the club back on their feet again. Any speedway is better than no speedway (for me!) Regards Alan Hi guys, I had a nice reply from the Smederna club explaining the problems they were having with streaming from OTHER tracks. Hello! Thanks for you mail. We are aware of the problem with the freezing. At the various tracks we are going to don't have the necessary internet speed to provide a non freezing stream. Here at our own home track we a internet speed of 10mbits up and 10mbits down, the other tracks has a internet speed of 0.6 mbits witch is slow. All the best Best regards Mikael Johnsson Smederna SF The good thing is we can watch again as soon as a meeting is over -the 3 of us who watch!!! Regards to all. Alan. Alan. i actually don't think that its the main problem since it don't work properly for the home meetings either and at the Eskilstuna track the internet connections is a high capacity MAN which was installed for the GPs. Perhaps they could try alternate methods such as sopcast to see if the problem persists? Edited July 16, 2010 by Ghostwalker

I am the old fashioned sort who takes them at their word, since i have no reason to doubt them and have no technical knowledge whatsoever regarding streaming. To me it is the greatest leap forward since the compact disc! I thought it was very nice of them to reply to my(totally non-complaining) e-mail bringing it to their attention. It was the same here in the USA and with Leicester Lion and Racers and Royals connections in Europe. I will take any speedway whether it is perfect or not. I think Smederna are to be congratulated on trying something new and wish them the best of luck. Hopefully the next transmission will be better. I know Racers and Royals and i will be watching come what may! Best Wishes. Alan.

Ghostwalker
Thomas H Jonasson is riding for Nassjo tonight in the 3rd league in Sweden.Seems a strang rule that he is allowed to ride. nothing strange at all, Nässjö i s Vetlandas Partner team and all Swedish rider that has an entry average of 5.99 or lower are allowed to ride for all partner teams. I think its a necessary rule because without it allot of team would have to close down due to lack of riders. With Brandonbee going awol this week -am i the only one watching ? so it seems. i saw the meeting from the eastern grand stand and there is not much to say about the meeting. Initially Aspgren and Törnquist looked very good but they faded at the end. The track was in a very poor condition (way to dry) but its understandable since it has rained less then 10 hours the past month. Even if they put on quite allot of water it didn't help much. Despite the weak opposition i think Smederna's riders did a solid job all the way to the end since they stayed focused on their task and avoided to do any mistakes. It was a respectable spectator size too, 610 people. Next meeting for Smederna is away against Team Värmland on Saturday. The meeting is held at Tallhult in Hagfors (Valsarnas track) and will begin at 13.00 Edited July 21, 2010 by Ghostwalker
