Topcat
Ok we would all love there to be genuine competition from British riders, but lets face up to it there are none at the moment. All credit to the Aussies, Polish,Danish,Swedish riders.
Dornier
Yes its very disappointing , every gp we think to ourselves this will be the one , especially cardiff home of the brits . But it was the same as usual Scott Bomber and Tai were in their usual gp form . It was there for the taking tonight with no clear favourites to win . we ll just have to accept it were not good enough
DSC67
Not going to be many in the future either , unless those in charge address the problem , need to give young Brits a some help and encouragement

All credit to the Aussies, Polish,Danish,Swedish riders. Swedish? No Swedes in the top eight as it stands. It's all Poles (including a Norwegian), Australians and Danes in the top eight. The Swedes are not that far off being in as bad a shape as Britain. You don't have to look too far to see why. Both Sweden and Britain have leagues that are dominated by imported riders. If you look at the top Swedish league most teams have two or three Poles as standard.
stemoc
The Cavalry is just coming over the hill. Craig Cook will be the next Brit to win the GP series you heard it here first Edited July 10, 2010 by stemoc
saranam
The Cavalry is just coming over the hill. Craig Cook will be the next Brit to win the GP series you heard it here first no he wont because the only help he will get is that he gets from himself and it wont be enough he would also have to sign for poole pirates
speedway2011
if the promotors showed as much interest in up and coming brits as they do crap overseas riders then we may have someone to cheer a in the future to success
speedway2011
National anthem, how many of the brits were singing it ? possibly None as for there riding, we are not good enough and should pull out of the world cup now when will we see the next british world champion ? ladyluck
if the promotors showed as much interest in up and coming brits as they do crap overseas riders then we may have someone to cheer a in the future to success Why blame the promoters? As Paul Weller sang: the public gets what the public wants. Whenever a team is struggling the supporters cast around for a young Pole, or Dane, or Swede (although there are increasingly few of them) as the solution to the team's problems. T.N.T.
Yes there are no British riders up there challenging as they are not in the same class as the top boys and quite frankly the only Brit that ever has challenged since the GP's started has been Mark Loram as this country no longer brings new talent through. The easy answer is right in front of you .... Too many crap foreign riderds over here that started with 7.00 averasges and now average 3.00 and fill up the reserve spots that should be given to British riders. If a rider cant obtain his assessed average then he clearly isnt good enough and if they were to return then they would have to keep that average until they reach that level. Would promoters continue to bring back riders like Max Dilger, Klaus Jacobsen etc if they still had 8.00 averages ?
T.N.T.
You don't have to sing the National Anthem to be patriotic .... maybe they are not up to the standards of Mr Gollob and co but I felt all 3 gave battling performances and some great passes. Tai started slowly but 6 from his last 3 riders were great

Outdated boring rubbish song anyway. As far as how they performed I thought had it been more of a racetrack Nicholls and Harris would have done better. Tai was encouraging as even when he is last he's in touch all the time and when he gates he tends to win. No I don't think they should be bashed Edited July 11, 2010 by westhamboy66
westhamboy66
If they used the money spent on bringing over these guys , on developing Brits things might change Developing future riders needs to be done probably from ten years old. Trying to do something with a seventeen year old is too late. There are only a handful of promoters who give any kids a chance and are happier to bring over a foreigner mainly due to pressure from the fans of those clubs. Brummie Kev
To be honest, I was very disapointed in Chris Harris. He threw away a good start and his gating in his final rides was terrible. He should do much better, hes won here before for godsake. I fear we are going to flop at the Speedway World Cup. I guess it might not be too bad if the likes of AJ, Lindgren and Hans Anderson boycott the event if the silencers are used.

gater
What a ridiculous post! Look folks, we all can see it every GP, just lacking in all area's...becomes increasingly more disheartening to see our boys battered and beaten without a whimper!
