dirt
Of what relevance is his GP avg to an Elite League Riders event. A lot when you have a very poor EL avg and haven't done anything else. It is simply another measuring stick. P.Karlsson has done alot over the years so his current EL avg is not as important!

speedy den boy
HAS there been any press release as to why the GP RIDERS INVITES didnt happen?Or are we asked just to forget it was even mentioned and go with the lin up that we have now got? Alan_Jones
HAS there been any press release as to why the GP RIDERS INVITES didnt happen?Or are we asked just to forget it was even mentioned and go with the lin up that we have now got? From the latest BSPA Weekly Roundup; "The event, which is the last in the hugely successful Super 7even series this season, features six Grand Prix stars and a host of other riders who are more than capable of mixing it with the best in the world. British Speedway officials have also confirmed they extended an invitation to newly crowned World Champion Tomasz Gollob, the former Ipswich man, but he has reluctantly declined because of other commitments." Thta's what you've got isn't it? Six current GP riders and the remainder have all either ridden in GPs or represented their countries at SWC level. So what's everyone whingeing about NOW? speedmerchant
Obviuosly I would love Fredrik Lindgren to win this but for his years of service it would be great if Leigh Adams can go out in style and lift the title. Although he has had a poor season, I think Peter Karlsson could be a suprise runner for this as he loves the EoES track and is a match for Bjerre and the others. Kasprzak, Holder and Harris are also strong contenders along with Bjerre. Would like .......... 1 ~ Fredrik Lindgren 2 ~ Peter Karlsson 3 ~ Leigh Adams Prediction ........ 1 ~ Chris Harris 2 ~ Chris Holder 3 ~ Kenneth Bjerre My money is on the new World Long Track Champion doing well in this meeting
superguest
A lot when you have a very poor EL avg and haven't done anything else. It is simply another measuring stick. P.Karlsson has done alot over the years so his current EL avg is not as important! They chose the top averaged riders from each team, then the next from each team. To give every team 2 riders to cheer for. It's not a conspiracy theory that Tai is down to ride and Darcy is not.

But wait, Dirt and yourself tell us that for the riders, individual meetings are where its at! We will see... As for those GP stars who were allegedly meant to be invited.. well, the press release on 22nd September stated that invitiations had been sent out. No wonder nobody wanted to do it. Those invitations should have gone out at the start of the season so riders have chance to plan in advance!!
em1500uk
What a load of rubbish. If this was only ever meant to be a regular ELRC, fair enough, but the fact the BSPA have bigged this up as something different, what an utter disappointment. Doubt I'll bother. Agreed... Doubt we'll bother going now either!
Trees
Agreed... Doubt we'll bother going now either! Who did ya want to see in it then/who would have persuaded you to go to it? This attitude doesn't give those riders who can be bothered to race in GB much incentive does it? Not that they probably wanna do the meeting anyways!! Fair play to the likes of Hans Andersen Chris Harris Etc who have ridden here and fitted in the meetings when the so called GP stars chose not to. I am more than happy to watch a representative meeting of this kind with riders who have bothered to entertain the British public all year. It would have been criminal to see some of the lesser lights cast aside so that some of the big boys could earn even more money at their expense Edited October 12, 2010 by westhamboy66
colincooke
For me it's more the fact that this was proclaimed to be something that it isn't that has made me decide that i shan't be going. if it was advertised as being just the top EL rides right from the start my opinion would be different. As it is i would rather use my £20 to pay my respects for being a fantastic servant to the sport in the UK to Mr Leigh Adams the following day. Jacques
I shouldn't imagine the crowd will be affected by the missing moaners anyway . I couldn't give two hoots whether NP, blah blah etc aren't coming. It's an opportunity for me to go and see Bomber and Kasper in the final competitive meeting of the season and hopefully see another trophy on it's way back to Brandon.
