SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 9

Tuesday June 22nd 2010

VARGARNA - LEJONEN

at ICA Maxi Arena, Norrköping

Scott Nicholls missed last week's re-arranged home fixture vs Indianerna as he rode for his British team on the night. Now he's back, and replacing Tai Woffinden at number four. Also, Adrian Miedzinski and Krzysztof Kasprzak swaps heat leader positions between them, with Miedzinski being back at number one, where he's been for most of the home fixtures.

The Lions are missing several riders as they visit Norrköping. Nicki Pedersen is missing, just as the injured Chris Holder and Artur Mroczka, the latter was actually named in the line-up but will be replaced by David Ruud. Lejonen will also be missing Mikael Max who I guess couldn't make the logistics work between Daugavpils (Sunday), Norrköping (Tuesday) and Rzeszow (Wednesday). Piotr Swiderski and Niklas Klingberg makes their season debuts.

PIRATERNA - DACKARNA

at Biltema Arena, Motala

The Pirates are still missing the services of Emil Sayfutdinov, but has signed Michal Szczepaniak as a temporary replacement for the Russian. Szczepaniak makes - at least - his second stint with Piraterna, but isn't in tonight's line-up. His fellow Pole Maciej Janowski will however return to the line-up at reserve, with Robert Kosciecha making a move up to the main body of the team.

Dackarna are at full strength, and rides with an expected line-up.

VÄSTERVIK - VALSARNA

at Sparbanken Arena Västervik

Rafal Okoniewski will be missing for Västervik tonight, as he has requested to be left out of the meeting due to a hectic schedule, away at Daugavpils on Sunday and home at Rzeszow tomorrow. Nicolai Klindt moves up into the main body, with Tomasz Chrzanowski filling in at reserve. Chrzanowski rode in Västervik's first fixture of the season, but has been scratched since then. Still, he's the best option according to team manager Mikael Messing as neither Joonas Kylmäkorpi or Denis Gizatullin has been on fire lately.

After being a bit of a hot head in recent meetings, Grigorijs Laguta is scratched for tonight meeting, at his former home track, alongside his brother Artem. -"He needs to cool down a bit. He's been too hot for a while (two exclusions for unfair riding), and that has caught the referee's attention" says team manager Robert Eriksson to a local newspaper. Roman Povazhny and Krzysztof Jablonski makes their season debuts for Valsarna.

ELIT VETLANDA - INDIANERNA

at Vetlanda Motorstadion

The management duo of Staaf/Wirebrand have opted for the same eight riders that produced the away win at Lejonen last week, with only Janusz Kolodziej and Thomas H Jonasson swapping second string positions between them. Martin Vaculik is out with a broken collarbone, but hopes to ride in the World U21 Championship Semifinal in Germany this weekend.

Indianerna were forced to some changes ahead of this away fixture, as Magnus Zetterström broke one of his thumbs and suffered a concussion in Poland this weekend. Leon Madsen steps into the team at second string, which forces Renat Gafurov out of the line-up, being replaced by Daniel Jeleniewski who has a lower starting average than the Russian. Linus Eklöf makes his season debut in Elitserien, as the number eight junior.

Thank you to Anders for the very informative update. Of course, now i would love to watch tonight's televised match between Piraterna and Dackarna. Does our friend Racers and Royals have a link for what looks, on paper, like a cracker of a meeting? Regards to all. Alan.

Hi Anders, slightly off topic but according to reports Newport have signed Robin Aspegren in the British PL.

Any idea how he will do?

He's not quite up to Kim Nilsson's standard, but I rate him higher than Mellgren, but then again, Robin has more experience than Anders. Comparing him to Kim/Anders, I would say that Robin isn't as fast from the gate as either of those two but should be able to hold down a second string position by scoring somewhere between 5.00 and 6.00.

You are a genius for finding this. When i type Channel 71743 in the sopcast box, it comes up "Channel invalid." Is there a direct link? Sorry to be a pain .. Regards. Alan.
