Brummie Kev
Kyle Newman isn't riding. Thanks for the response Will, was hoping to see Kyle but you've put together a good line up. Should be down for this one.
BobC
Kyle turned this and other guest bookings down (at least 4 to my knowledge)in order to keep his machinery together for the Brummies and Hornets official fixtures. Both Patch and Drury impressed by his committment.

willp
SPEEDWAY fans from throughout the region will flock to Wolverhampton on Tuesday for the revival of the Golden Hammer individual event. It will be the first time the prestigious meeting has been held since 1996 when Cradley lost their fight for survival following the loss of their Dudley Wood home. Now the return of the famous Heathens name with Dudley racing in the National League has signalled the return of the famous meeting which was won by great world champions of the past including Erik Gundersen and Sam Ermolenko. Now the top National League stars will do battle over 20-races to lift the prize money and the specially-crafted trophy commissioned by the club. Heathens skipper Lee Smart is one of the pre-meeting favourites in a meeting which features six riders who also race at Premier League level. Dudley Chairman Nigel Pearson said: "It's a line-up full of riders who will give it their all. The nice thing about it is that every rider wanted to race in the event and our Heathens boys all want to beat Smartie because he is the one rider they all look up to as our skipper!" The meeting is supported by Dudley Stroke Association who are promoting their F.A.S.T message - Face, Arm, Speech, Time - and they will be holding a collection on the night. Heathens have kept admission prices the same, a bargain £10 adults, £5 concessions and £2 children. Season tickets are also valid. A special full-colour souvenir programme, which includes pictures of all former Cradley riders who won the Hammer, will also be available for £3. And in a real bonus for Heathens fans, traditional Cradley pork sandwiches will also be on sale! THE 2010 F.A.S.T GOLDEN HAMMER LINE-UP: Steven Worral (Scunthorpe), Lee Smart (Heathens/Stoke), Jake Anderson (Heathens/Glasgow), Nick Morris (Buxton/Glasgow), Craig Cook (Buxton/Workington), Ashley Morris (Heathens/Edinburgh), Darryl Ritchings (Heathens), Joe Jacobs (Rye House), Tom Perry (Heathens), Nicki Glanz (Plymouth), Micky Dyer (Heathens), Barrie Evans (Heathens), Simon Lambert (King’s Lynn/Sheffield), Richard Franklin (Heathens), Todd Kurtz (Newport), Luke Priest (Newport). Reserve: Jamie Pickard (Plymouth). c/o www.dudleyspeedway.com
21st century heathen
My top 3 prediction is Smart, Cook and Perry. But a Heathens top 3 would be nice.

Parsloes 1928 nearly
Throughly entertaining meeting at Monmore Green tonight (er, yesterday by the time I've got home and posted this! ) Result was: 1st. Simon Lambert (King’s Lynn) 15[M]; 2nd. Craig Cook (Buxton) 13; 3rd. Lee Smart (Dudley) 12 (after r/o); 4th. Micky Dyer (Dudley) 12; 5th. Barrie Evans (Dudley) 11; 6th. Todd Kurtz (Newport) 9; 7th. Steven Worrall (Scunthorpe) 9; 8th. Ashley Morris (Dudley) 8; 9th. Tom Perry (Dudley) 7; 10th. Jake Anderson (Dudley) 7; 11th. Nicki Glanz Plymouth) 5; 12th.= Luke Priest (Newport) 3; 12th.= Jamie Pickard (Plymouth); 14th.= Joe Jacobs (Rye House) 2; 14th= Richard Franklin (Dudley) 2; 16th= Darryl Ritchings (Dudley) 1; 16th= Dean Felton (Isle of Wight) 1 Am glad I travelled to this one, as it was very competitive at the top end of the field and there were some great races. Especially Smart coming fromn third to first in his second ride to pip Ashley Morris right on the line and then repeating the trick by passing Cook on the final lap in his third outing. Also a couple of other very close finishes involving Nicki Glanz and Tom Perry mid-meeting. The business was conducted swiftly, with this now seemingly omnipresent drizzle in the air; and above all the abiding memory will be a simply imperious performance by maximum man Simon Lambert Fair play to the Dudley folk for putting on a big indiv. meeting. At this level (the third tier) this kind of thing's not happened as much as IMHO it should. Wimbledon always put on one (sometimes two) big invitational indivs in their CL days but a lot of other tracks seem to avoid them. I did think at the outset tonight that maybe there were just a couple more home riders than ideal but with the likes of Jerran Hart & James Sarjeant injured it did require I guess homesters to step in. And no-one can complain that in Lambert, Cook, Smart and Dyer these are right up there as major contenders for the current top four in the NL... And with Deano making a late unscheduled appearance it REALLY was like those open meetings at Plough Lane all over again...!!

A huge Well done to Simon Lambert !!! Lee Smart shone for me. Lee missing the gate consistently made for the entertainment certainly but was always going to leave him an uphill task to win. And then in his final ride literally missing the start and having to pay for his 2 mins offence by 15 metres ended his chances. Why DID he leave the start to go back to the pits, does anyone know..? A huge Well done to Simon Lambert !!! Lee Smart shone for me. He appeared to me to turn left on Morris down the back straight. Without the benefit of a replay I'll stand by it. Morris has taken plenty of defeats on the chin. I haven't seen him react like that this season so he clearly felt Worrall was out of line, as does his later comment to Porky that "...someone wound me up...". What happened after the race between the two was just handbags. I can't comment on what may have gone on behind the scenes, as it were, because I wasn't there to see/hear it. But as generalisation 'heat of the moment' springs to mind. --------------------------------------- Decent enough meeting as there were some great races mixed in with some follow the leader stuff in what were horrible conditions at times. Some pluses and minuses from a Heathens point of view. Hopefully all the bad gating, slight lack of pace, small errors and engine problems are out of the way in time for next week and the boys will all be on it from start to finish next Tuesday. Lambert obviously impressed. Cook rode well as expected but can't help but feel he 'stole', for the want of a better word, 2nd place off Smart. Can't knock him for it though, obviously. Dyer was unlucky in the run-off. He thinks it's blown itself to pieces and has cost him a pretty penny. Evans certainly did enough to be best of the rest in my view, with not much to choose then between Morris, Kurtz and Worrall. I think I must have jinxed 'Fred' by calling him to take a podium position. His poor gating cost him badly last night, until proving he can do the business if he just makes a half decent start in his last ride. Anderson had a bit of a random night looking very uncomfortable and perfectly comfortable at different times. He's certainly an enigma. Priest and Pickard got themselves in decent positions at times but got shuffled back. Jacobs was a little unfortunate really. Just one of those nights for him. He's certainly more capable than we saw in my opinion. Franklin had a stinker and I suspect he's still kicking himself this morning. Glanz disappointed and Felton was not really good enough. That just leaves Ritchings, I think. I've got no idea what happened there. Can anyone shed any light on it?

771neil
Edwardlan were you in pits and did you see the race worrall knew what he was doing and knew he was in the wrong I can also tell you nearly every ride in that pits said "that was a bit naughty to me about the incident" i can also tell you the reachtion from ash and crew was because of how dangerous the move was. Also as 21st heathen said ash does know how to take a lose he s been cut up fenced and all sorts this season and he knows it s part of racing but also knows when someone does something is dangerous and we don t need it the sport dangerous enough. I missed the reason when the announcement was made. Whilst delighted the Heathens have had a strong season, whatever happens from here on, I feel sorry for him that he hasn't had his shot this season. I hope he gets fixed up somewhere next season. Fourentee
And your meaning is? And my meaning is it was a terrible joke. The smiley indicates complicity in the sense that both us knew that but neither of us was taking it seriously. This one is called rolleyes, which I did when reading your post.
