Scott0311
Holder, then Bjerre, the King Artur hit the same bad patch. Again nasty nasty nasty. Awaiting the usual suspects saying Artur is an accident waiting to happen blah blah blah... Hidden away at the bottom of page 1 of the Race Card thread Steve, Really don't believe some people
Midnight_Lady
A brilliant GP and welll done to Tomek. He was awesome tonight. So glad that Holder's arm wasn't broken.
Trees
Agree with that totally as thats how it comes across, never really appealed to me. I disagree with that especially in these latter years, he always congratulates the winners etc ............ I hope he goes on to win it now, he's too good a rider to never have been world champion! I, too, am glad Holder hasn't broken anything but what injuries has he, same as Artur M, nothing more was said about him! Surprised to see Zorro up and seemingly uninjured too and fantastic lay down by Lindgren, super reactions that saved him and the others from any more injury .............. Also Pedersen earlier in the meeting, how did he not break a bone, was sure he must have hurt his ankle!
tomcat
First of all, I'm glad that Noddy isn't seriously hurt. Despite what the children on here say, he is a talent on a speedway bike and definitely shut me up, as I was one of a few that thought he may struggle. Also glad that the other fallers were all able to walk away unscathed too. Lets be fair here, several riders hit that bad patch/hole and had the bike leap up and out of control. And anyone that understands the characteristics of a speedway bike will know, that unlike a conventional bike, when the power comes away from the rear wheel, it grips and drives, which makes the bike unpredictable to handle. Hitting a rut/hole or unexpected dirt will make the thing go nuts and even the best rider can struggle to hold onto it. Yes, I know Bjerre etc rode through the rut/hole, but they didn't collect it in as big a way as Holder and Mzrocka did. I have never been fan of the GP series, but this year is starting to sway that towards a liking, as the racing has been far and away the best to date. The tracks have been pretty well prepared, whether they have been slick or have had dirt on them, which shows that if you have someone that knows what they are doing, then good close exciting racing will happen. Its great to see the younger riders starting to excel, showing the old guard that their time at the top is nearing its end. Holder, as I said above, has impressed me thus far. Hampel, although not exactly new to the GP scene, has started the season on fire. Emil the Russky was doing well, until that nasty accident and arm break, Woofy is getting there, slowly but surely and the evergreen youngster Zorro.. is proving he was well worth his qualification. How about Greg Hancock and his superb show of sportsmanship, loaning Zorro a steel show for his last ride. As always, Grin is the ultimate professional. Nice to see Tomasz on top of the pile, lets hope he stays there this time, as the last time he was in this position, he got hurt badly and missed the chance to win the top prize. I actually felt sorry for Nicki P tonight, that was an awful crash and like everyone else, I expected to hear he had broken something, such was the impact with the track. IMHO, it was a 50/50 call, as to who was at fault for that and it was a shame that anyone had to be disqualified, but someone has to go and it was Nicki that copped the short straw. Jonsson looks like he is struggling in a big way at the moment, don't know if its down to the man himself or his machinery, but he looks down on power at times. Holta is the one thats an accident waiting to happen. Over riding, chucking his bike at other riders and looking increasingly desperate at times. One to forget for Harris this time, but I feel sure that he will raise his game for Cardiff... as will Woofy and Scotty too. As for the Ref.... yet another of the FIM's 'From the list of Plonker Refs' Medzienski(sp) should have never been excluded for that obvious first bend bunching incident... thought a couple of his calls on dead heat situations were dodgy too, but then I wasn't in line with the finish line, sitting in my lounge watching it on Sky. Well, here's hoping that Cardiff is just as good and may a Brit win it for us in its 10th year.

First point - it seemed to me every rider offered a shoe but Zorro quickly moved on when he realised they didn't fit - touch of the Cinderelllas. Holta - an accident waiting to happen? Sure he rode a bit hard last night, but I would argue that to often he has been on the recieving end. His race with Crumpy tonight was a good example of two riders giving everything but still allowing each other enough space. Great GP - looks like everyone has come through it unscathed which is great news. Crap decision by the ref to exclude Miedzinski. Is it time to invest in some decent photo finish equipment? Yes, that was funny halfway down the pits before he found one to fit.
Trees
Is it time to invest in some decent photo finish equipment? The finish line filming has always eluded SKY, I'd like to know what the problem is, WHY can't they have a camera positioned straight along the start, perhaps not attached to the starting gates because of the jolting as the tapes rise perhaps but there has to be a way of getting a straight shot of the finish line, reposition that bleeding mole cam perhaps? BigFatDave
reposition that bleeding mole cam perhaps? Geez, you Poms love your Blood Sports!! PS Down here the usual suspects all agree with Haza, 5 Furrow and the Know-alls, as far as the Start Tarts went, Yellow was the pick of the litter. Congrats to Tomasz - is this his year? So relieved that Chris Holder didn't break anything; he's doing us proud, and Jason showed a few glimpses last night that suggest he's on the way back. What a great series! barrow boy
The more I watch, the more I'm sure the points should be changed for the Semis & Final (4,3,2,1 for each SF, 8,6,4,2 for the Final) I was going to start a new thread with this in mind but instead I will simply say in response to your above comment. Yes Yes Yes please let's have it this way. It is totally unfair for any rider eho finishes 4th in either the semi finals or the final to leave empty handed. Come on organisers change it for next season please.
barrow boy
I just want to add my support to those who have praised Frederick Lindberg for his great evasive action. In the past I will admit that I have sometimes been critical of FL's riding style, especially between the start and the first turn but last night his couragous effort certainly prevented a serious injury to someone. John Hannibal Thomas
I think the number of Polish GP's has devalued the GP Series as a whole.
Blazeaway
Tonight couldn't have been a better advert for the sport for those at home thinking about buying a ticket for Cardiff. A great GP tonight though the nasty crashes soured it somewhat. If that meeting tonight doesn't add a couple of thousand to Cardiff nothing will. Gutted I won't be there as the first I will have missed. Did the opposite for me, was half thinking about Cardiff but now definitely not going to bother. Last night was a proper speedway meeting on a proper track, whereas Cardiff is an overpriced farce. Will save my pennies for Bydgoscz methinks. Yep it's a joke a bit like them having the world cup final every two years Good to see Hampel Gollob And Holta going so quick last night must be because of the great work from there Pit crew

Until they're banned I won't be back.

Great atmosphere and event but awful racing at Cardiff

Bradford Ace
Wow is all I can say about that!! I really would urge anyone that's thinking of going to Torun next yr to get yourself there as you will not be disappointed. The stadium is amazing and really can't believe how lucky they are in Torun to have a purpose built stadium like that to watch Speedway in every week. I'm sure everyone who was here last nite or watched it back home would give their right arm for a stadium like that in England. Great viewing from everywhere and just a great track that was fantastically prepared. Was lucky enough to attend an hours talk with Steve Brandon, Phil Rising and Briggo yesterday afternoon and they confirmed that the roof is going to be extended so it covers well over the track to protect it from the weather. Not quite Cardiff but near as damn it so this looks like becoming the new jewell in the crown for the organisers. Had incidents right from the start and just hope all the injured riders are ok today. Really can't believe anyone has put anything negative on hear about Holder. The guy is a breath of fresh air for the GP's like Emil and is a super fast talented rider. Always happy and relaxed and I for one wish him a speedy recovery. Don't care who he rides for, the guy is a great talent and any meeting without him is worse off in my opinion so all the best Noddy. We went to Grudziadz v Gdansk on fri nite and Zorro took 2 absolute pearlers there so he must have been black and blue even before last nite's horrible crash so can't imagine how he feels today!! The guy is one tough cookie and is doing great now he's used to the standard and doesn't look outta place at all. Big congrats to Tomek as best man won w/o question. Helped make the nite having 3 Poles in the final and then on the rostrum so the locals were happy. Wud luv to see him have a good Cardiff for once and keep at the top of the standings as the last few GP's are great tracks for him and apart from our fave riders I think we'd all love to see him finally become World Champ. Esp at Bydgoszcz!!!! Just got one meeting left today at Bydgoszcz which is against Wroclaw so if that's half as good as last nite I'll be buzzing!! Everyone get saving for Torun in 2011 cos you'll only regret it if you're not there. Believe me!!!!! Bagpuss
Fantastic GP so far. Has everything. Best for a long while. Thought it was very good but not quite as good as Parken for me. Gollob was head and shoulders above everyone else and the likely winner from a very early stage. Would be good to see him win a world title before he packs up and with three rounds in Poland including the final round in his back yard he'll never have a better chance. Good to see Tai improving in every round but not such a good one for Bomber once again who couldn't gate for toffee and made some poor choices in the first bend.
