Line Up Wm-qualification Round 1 Fjelsted/dk 12.06.2010

Recommended Posts

Bit of a wake-up call for Darcy.

Yeah, it's a bit of a shock seeing him miss out, but the kid IS still very young, so can be excused the odd blip.

Let's not forget that in 2008, the year of his second U21 title win, and the year before being given a wild card to the SGP, Emil also finished 1 place outside the qualifiers in the first round ;)

Indeed. But I get the impression that set backs like this will just make him dig deeper and try harder. The lad is certainly talented.

No doubt about it; I'm sure Darcy will take this all on board and come out not just a better rider but a stronger person for the setback.

Let's face it, he's been on a near-vertical learning curve in the past season-and-a-half.

This is the 3rd time i've tried to reply to this, but nothing happened. cant be bothered to keep typing it out but Madsen was found to be CHEATING, but amazingly <and against the wishes of the ref> he was allowed to ride.

Given the meeting was in Denmark, I'm guessing the machine examiner was Danish, and the problem was picked up in the pre-meeting scrutineering, I'm guessing as well that he was told that it didn't conform to the rules and was told to change it. In theory it should of been bought up at the Jury meeting as well.

He didn't ride in the practice, and when he started his bikes up before the meeting the other riders knew something was up. His bike made a loud noise, there's didn't. They tried to take if off, but the ref <Jim Lawrence> got there in time. He was adamant that he should be thrown out, but the jury <of three> let him ride. This was premeditated CHEATING, he had split the exhaust, took something out <i assume the baffle> and made it look perfect. We saw his father talking to King Ole, we can only assume that Ole had something to do with it, as every rider we spoke to was convinced he should be thrown out <even the other Danes>.

2 questions if you don't mind Spanner47 ? Do you know if his bike had been through the pre-meeting scrutineering (rather than the practise scrutineering), and do you know who were on the Jury ?

Sort of answered my own questions by looking at Suplemenray regs Fjelsted which suggests that the Jury should be Ila Teromma (president), Jorgen Jensen from the DMU, and Jim Lawrence. It also states that any protests regarding the eligibility of any competitor or machine must be made before the commencement of official practise - that would be a little difficult if he didn't attend practise wouldn't it !!

It would appear that anything goes this season in speedway

Usual Speedway STUPID situation , The FIM insist that all the Qualifiers are run using the new Silencers , But if you qualify for the 2011 GP Series at present you don`t have to use them !!!

Takes me back to the Overseas Final 1996 , when the FIM insisted all the Riders used the Solid Block Tyres when at the same time all the Guys in the GP? Series insisted they would`nt be using them !!

I for one though cannot see how Madsen cannot be brought beofre a Jury to "try" to condone his Actions ,and face some action

If he was found altering the Sealed Silencer in a SCB/BSPA Meeting the regs state .. " Take note that should any Rider present a Bike with an illegal Silencer (ie it has been modified in any way, then the Rider will be excluded from that Meeting, ... we have the Rules correct even though we don`t use the Silencers yet !!!

I've just been puzzled myself as to why there was apparently no interest in these qualifiers whilst looking in the SGP section. Then as i was logging out i had an thought to check in the 'international' section of the forums. Sure enough, once again, annoyingly a 100% SGP topic has been started in the international section rather than the SGP section.

Regarding earlier pleas for information as to the line-ups and results (sorry been out all night, was a good one lol), I'll take the opportunity here to link to an excellent source for line-ups and results with all the subsequent quality links to the SGP itself past, present and future

Wikipedia 2011 Speedway Grand Prix Qualification

Apologies i wasn't around earlier to supply that link.

But he has still been allowed to keep his place in the next round?

What a crock of the proverbial.

Sounds like he did`nt use it in the Meeting , But if the Meeting had been in Poland or elsewhere other than DK , You can bet your bottom Dollar / Danish $$ Whatever ........ he`d be banned from the Meeting

How could he expect that no-one would notice? He must be a complete numpty to think other riders would not notice that his bike was louder. His qualification should be cancelled and every one else moved up a place if this is all true. He may have been prevented from using the doctored silencer in the meeting but the intent seems pretty clear. Blatant cheating if this is all true, absolutely disgraceful behaviour!

The FIM changed their stuff a bit for this season and no longer sends out the list's of riders by email like last year. Instead they are published on the FIM site where all the other websites then take them. So look harder, they are under news or similar, dont remember where.

OK I did a little more poking about the FIM site and found all the line-up stuff in Official Documents/Press Releases section. Silly me, before that I was looking in the grand prix qualifiers section and expecting the line-ups to be there!
