I wasn't going to reply but I will ... my words were "you are out of order for cheering a fallen rider and you know it" if that is deemed as rude and abusive then I apologise had I been closer ................ who knows rolleyes.gif

Actually I was referring to someone to the right of our group referring to us as

"Disrespectful <unacceptable language removed>"

A little question for Stevie Shovlar, If 2 Premier league teams moved up to the Elite can you tell me where the extra 6 heat leaders would come from ? Or would you be happy for the current league to be diluted even further ? ( ok thats 2 little questions ?)

Sorry my maths is not so good. You mention 3 teams moving up so that an extra 9 heat leaders to find.

There's plenty of riders out there who would come over if given a team berth. If it meant diluting the league by a point so be it. Look at the top of the PL averages and tell me where the next young Brit is going to come through to mix it at the top?

I think you are wrong there statistics show that riders are reluctant to come and ride in the Elite League.

I am not sure diluting the league is such a good idea the last time they did that there was an uproar on here.

Maybe if Elite League teams were made to have one British rider at reserve or two doubling British riders under the age of say of 23, and let these riders do all the Guest bookings that become available in the Premier League.

The one thing that the riders complain about is that do take the plunge up into the Elite League is the lack of opportnities that they get to earn money.

OK, lets just assume you are right. Name these 9 heat leaders who would be willing to come and ride in The Elite League.

The usual suspects came round last night and we settled in to watch the show (again for me!) and to a man (and woman!) they were disgusted at the attitude of the so-called fans who cheered when Rory Kummagutza. To read on here some of these low-life pond-scum attempting to justify their actions makes me sick, and exposes them as the type of 'fans' they really are. Rory's Dad's got a lot more tolerance than I have; he's obviously mellowed recently, that's for sure.

As for the innumerable posters who reckon they can tell from a few images on the TV that the Aussies were arrogant; it may be time for youse mob to get a life. I've always felt that attitudes like these were either a chip on the shoulder showing through or an inferiority complex; now I know those people are just plain inferior.

GB deserved to win but let's not forget they were the only full-strength team out there - even Finland were missing one of their better riders - so let's see a tad more graciousness in victory, can we?

As far as the track goes: it was infinitely better than the blue line specials served up at Poole in '04 and Reading in '06, not quite as good as EOES last year but still pretty darn good, and a credit to the trackstaff (Onya Buster!!).

You have got to be kidding me Dave. Poole 04 was the best SWC ever. Have it on DVD and bothe runoff and final are classics.

Perhaps chewing a bit of sour grape because Crump got past in the runoff by Gollob? ;)

Quote from shazzybird' date='27 July 2010 - 11:53 b]SILVER BEE[/b] and SCB and a few of their little posse with them actually cheered and clapped when Rory went hard into the fence, lads you can deny it all you like and even send in your village idiot to fight ya battles but ...... I looked away when Rory went into the fence and was facing you at the time watching you cheering and clapping, in front of me is bad enough as everyone knows that is my mega pet hate of mine BUT in front of Rorys Mum that was a definate no no!!!! ......give you your due you did try to get out of it by saying you were cheering on another rider at the time, unfortunately the rider you said you were cheering wasn't in that race!!!!!

You need new glasses and/ a hearing aid. We did not cheer as we told you last night.

My pet hate, probably the thing I dislike more than anything from speedway fans is the tendancy to cheer when riders fall off.

And sorry, but who did we "send"? I don't even know of anyone going to see you, let alone actually sending anyone.

Say what you like SCB even someone that was stood with you moved away because they were too embarrased to stand with you after you cheered Rory falling ..... errrr rewind and just re-think who you said you were cheering for in "that" race icon_lol.gif to be a good liar you have to have a good memory something you clearly do not have! You can try to lie your way out of this you cheered a fallen rider and laughed and clapped at the fact!! I'm not arguing with you I'm telling you what I saw and heard! Some people do this regular but I would of thought with his Mum right behind you, I found it very tactless.

As for "sending" someone maybe that was a wrong choice of words, because it was as we walked round ..... I saw Silver Bee and I said to him "I think you owe Mrs Schlein an apology" ..... oh bless am taking it the comical fella with him was his Dad who really did tie himself up in knots with an argument he clearly knew nothing about (I'm repeating this for you Silver Bee because at this point you had done a runner, not sure if it was from us or him icon_lol.gif ) and then tried to turn the discussison back on Mrs Schlein with another attack at the Aussies Hmmmmm like father like son me thinks unsure.gif

Just admit it and apologise SCB we all make mistakes in life just this one has put you lower than a snakes belly, how did you feel after you'd cheered Rory and we'd had an argument and then the ambulance came onto the track ...... personally for that split second I hope you felt sick!

Say what you like in reply to this ...... I wont answer it ......I know what I saw I know what I heard and so did everyone around you including Rorys Mum!

I was stood with Silverbee and SCB and we were cheering for Tero all night, How could you not cheer for someone who is a premier league reserve riding in one of the biggest meetings in the world and actually mixing it pretty well?

I admit that I cheered when Schlein got out of shape much the same way that I cheered when others did during the night (like Ward etc) but I didn't expect him to fall off the back of his bike and go into the fence like he did, The last thing I want to see is a rider get injured and a Panthers rider at that!

We weren't cheering that Rory crashed, we were cheering that he let Tero through, Though unfortunately some very rude people jumped to conclusions and decided to yell abuse at us.

Well someone was right!!! :P

BFD, I see 3/5 of the Aussies every week, so if I think they are arrogant I will say so. If they weren't arrogant they defintely thought it was gonna be easy and got scared when they realised it wouldn't be a walk in the park.

All this bickering about rory is silly, I doubt anyone would cheer after he crashed.

Interesting. With Rob Lyon, I agree with Steve Shovlar, and also disagree.....

Firstly, it hasn´t proved the success people are proclaiming. Lets not forget 2009 - he dropped Richardson and Nicholls last season, favouring going for youth. It is an embarrassing u-turn and what does it suggest about our future options??? Nicholls had a higher average than Bridger, Kennett, King and Woffinden a year ago as they garnered 1 heat win between their 7 combined appearances, and would have made the difference alongside Richardson´s 17 points out of the 35 in Leszno where Team GB missed out by just 4 points in World Cup Final Qualification.. All the "give youth experience" - clearly this is a year they don´t need experience. However, well done for the U-turn, it was an absurd decision to drop them. Also the ´get together´ a year last March was a waste of time.

Where I disagree with SS, is that Rob Lyon has done something unimagineable to Coventry fans in getting Brits to ride as a team, and notably Nicholls and Harris. If only the Coventry management had got Lyon´s talents in this area during the winter! Last night was a great performance for British Speedway, when it is widely accepted that it is in a slump. A third or higher with these set of riders at Vojens would definitely outdo Middlo´s achievements of a best of 2nd at Poole 2004. So good luck to Rob Lyon and Team GB.

Have to agree with this. You will never see a better world cup final and race off than you saw in 2004, in this country, except the result was wrong!! And ive watched them all since the evalution of Sky.

IMO Peterbough would be the only other place capable of holding a WCF in this country.

I was at Leszno last year, Steve - knocks spots off Poole. Still spewin' that Tomasz beat Leigh in the final heat.

Poole '04 I arrived at Heathrow on the morning of the Race-off, hot-footed it to Dorset; found a pub; found a billet; caught up with Team OZ before the match to wish 'em well then watched it all go down the gurgler as the thin blue line took over the inside of the track, so its fair to say my memories are a bit tainted. Of course if there's a piccy of ME on your DVD then I might hafta agree with you - got a spare copy floating around, maaaaaaaaaaaaate?

At least someone's had the guts to own up to being a scumbag. Maccas a mate of yours, SCB?

That'd be your opinion, as a fully-trained practising psychologist I presume? I've known some of them for years and we usually carry on pretty much the same the world over - if that's arrogance I beg to differ; its just a bunch of alien social outcasts on a strange unwelcoming planet partying on with their own.

All this bickering about rory is silly, I doubt anyone would cheer after he crashed.

But they did, because we all heard it, and at least one of them has had the guts to admit it.

I Definately don't agree with this. you obviously didn't read my posts, as you are going round in circles. Neil took Team GB as far as he could, and if Rob Lyon can achieve what Neil did with the riders at his disposal, which is not a lot, then good luck to the man.

But believe me, Saturday will not be a walk in the park, and if we get on the podium that will be a good result, but all our boys will have to ride like they did last night, and better!! And tell me this, where are the next set of riders going to come from when Nicholls Richardson and Harris retire? read my other posts and you will get the answers!!

Fantastic meeting and great to see Team GB progress through to the final without the worry of a race off (makes a pleasant change!) Don't expect us to win the final, but hoping we give a real go! :approve:

Agree but it would have been even better if they'd held it at Poole.
