Quality of racing doesn't really depend on what level we are watching does it? The most important factors are riders of similar ability and a good racing track, doesn't matter whether they are National League or GP stars.

Spot on Salty - have been present at NL, Amateur and WTC meetings over the course of the last three days and have thoroughly enjoyed them ALL.

More NL action tonight, then PL tomorrow.

Well done team G.B !!

Fantastic result and i agree with what some one wrote on here earlier, the australians were mucking around to much with the helmet cam and pretty much assumed they would win the heat after steady got excluded. I was thinking what Crump and Adams would of said if they was there ?

Only negative for me was the thing took so bloody long again with to many delays,

i know there was a few spills but come on, 4 hours coverage for less than 30 mins racing ! they have quickened the SGP up but not the SWC ?

I can never understand why after a tape infringment they just can't just go round to the tapes again and get racing instead of faffing around ?

I agree they seemed to be somewhat complacent after the Stead disqualification

I am sure Crump and Adams would have had a few words to say

They were arrogant and payed for it

Why would anyone been sick ? my point why Pl tm's and tracks not getting these gigs still stand ...Speedway will never get any better in the Uk while we give events and jobs to a massive club who ambition in league speedway is to beat Berwick 60-30 each week .

As normal last night people got carried away by the meeting the racing was poor for 75 % of the night and we beat teams who had there best riders missing .

Watch it Orion, they will be after you next. :D

We get told week in and out the PL is where the racing is at its best. Funny that the PL riders there last night were half a lap behind. That PL rider in the Swedish team who rides KL weekly really put the woolies up the other guys didn't he?

Kings Lynn would rather be a big fish in a little pond than risk playing with the big boys.

As I said, Keeping up appearances in order to try to not look stupid but only increasing your stupidity.

Keep going lads

Why do you assume speed makes good entertainment??

You dont need riders going flat out following each other round to be good entertainment `cos it aint!!

EL riders have far more skill than PL riders, as well as speed. That's why in the latter part of last nights meeting you saw some passing. Harris in heat 24, Woffinden, Ward and Lindgren in heat 22.

A shame we had to wait two thirds of the meeting for it to wake up from the snoozefest it was. Too many on here wearing rose tinted glasses if they thought is was a classic meeting last night. It certainly wasn't. It only redeemed itself by Team GB winning and a few good races at the end. I said it earlier. Peterborough last year was in a different league to last night.

No sorry I think the Aussies have a great attitude towards the sport all of them do what they do because they love it and are passionate about it. They don't take themselves off into corners to meditate I like to see the comaradery that they show.

My only negative on King's Lynn last night was that I wish I never spent £35 to sit in the Royal Box as it was called what silly idiot came up with the idea that if you sat in there you had to support GB and issue you with a GB flag. I had to then go and spend a tenner to prove a point to support the Aussies instead. Also the view from their was absolutely lousy. Catering there lastnight was pretty useless as well qeuing for hours for drink's etc.

Well what can I say after an 11th hour decision to make the 310mile round trip ....... I didn't know who to cheer for last night Aussies or Brits, having always been a Brit fan and slating everyone else who dared to cheer any other team apart from their home nation (thought I'd get that in before LW decides to point out how she or WvsH supports POLAND and I tell her off for it .... but I think with Australia just being filled with our criminals probably counts as home turf so .....I still win that one ish icon_lol.gif )

Anyway ...... found myself cheering on all sorts of riders and at points from all 4 teams for different reasons!!!! Even bought me an Aussie flag which some Davey Watt fan in front of me wanted hmmmmm yeah right £10 buy ya bloody own!!!

At the end of the day the meeting itself I thought started out a bit flat, didn't appear to be much atmosphere in the place, National Anthem was a damp squid only person I heard and saw singing was Sandie!!!!! Still ..... it started to liven up that might have been with the help of the insect invasion maybe they had been sent in by RORY SCHLEIN family and friends after learning that SILVER BEE and SCB and a few of their little posse with them actually cheered and clapped when Rory went hard into the fence, lads you can deny it all you like and even send in your village idiot to fight ya battles but ...... I looked away when Rory went into the fence and was facing you at the time watching you cheering and clapping, in front of me is bad enough as everyone knows that is my mega pet hate of mine BUT in front of Rorys Mum that was a definate no no!!!! ......give you your due you did try to get out of it by saying you were cheering on another rider at the time, unfortunately the rider you said you were cheering wasn't in that race!!!!!

All moan and groans apart absolutely fantastic win for Rob Lyon and the Brits and hopefully Boycey and the Aussies will win the race off on thursday and be in the final too.

I think the crowd was very large, does anyone know how many people were there?

Chris and Scott were very impressive!

Regarding the venue, KL for me was a very good choice as it's nearby. It also is a good track and the facilities for watching ensure that you can see well, whether you stand on the steep 'steps' or sit in the grandstand. £35? No thank you!

Australia looked very good at the beginning, winning all 3 of the first 3 heats. It was a pleasant surprise to see England, I mean, Great Britain, win. Great performance from the Brits all round :)

THJ wont ride for sweden after they banned him for a month had been asked to ride last night

but told the swede authorities to stick it were the sun dont shine.

Dont worry, its not the same coach now that banned THJ. The new coach, Peter Jansson, likes THJ and picked him as one of the seven riders he plans to bring to Vojens. Yesterday, the swedish commentators discussed if THJ should have choosen instead of Nermark and Stefan Andersson, team manager for Piraterna in Sweden answeared yes to that question. So me and plenty others swedes are expecting THJ in the Race-off if AJ wont be able to ride.

However, congratulations to the victory yesterday. Nice to see Scott making such a good performance. He deserves it after all struggling he's been through.

Unfortunately, Sweden made a pretty poor performance, especially Antonio, Zorro and Nermark. But Fredrik was absolutely superb. He acted like he was the world champion. Good to see, even Jonas did it well. But the brits deserved to win.

See you in the final;-)

For sure Shazzer, but they have to start somewhere, and without the 2nd tier to learn their trade in, where would they have gone ? Sweden, Denmark Poland ?

To reply to the question on the size of the crowd. The local EDP paper gave it as 7000

Heat 22 was Freddie at his best, no hard elbows or riding out of control, just swept by everyone. His race with Harris was pretty good too. The track prep suited him, shame about the re-run of heat 1! I thought Jonas was brilliant. He has so much talent, he seems to step up in the SWC. And many thanks for beating Holder in heat 23 :approve:

Well, what a night that was! :D

Can I say a HUGE thanks to the amazing crowd last night? You guys were awesome and the noise levels were fantastic. It had the right effect on the boys and all I heard from the riders was how amazing the crowd were. The flag waving and general enthusiasm was just superb.

I also want to praise the great work of Kevin Moore in the box who was an absolute joy to work with. He kept the results 100% up to date all night and was totally professional throughout the meeting. Ben who looked after the music also had a really tough job putting up with me every few races , the sky live feeds and all the other distractions but he coped very well indeed. Shame we didn't manage to use even half of the pre race music or play offs that I had recorded but the time just didn't allow for any of that. No sooner had the riders gone back to the pits, the 2 minute warning was on and off we went again!

Sorry I wasn't allowed to do the shout outs or interviews before the meeting - I didn't realise that until 5.30pm!!!

Obviously I would have been much happier on the centre all night but that was never an option so I found a good place in front of the Royal box and it all seemed to work OK in the end.

Credit to the Chapman family who have put so much time, effort and money into the stadium and to Rob Lyon the best team manager I have every known!

We've come a long way from my first spell on the mic there in 1988 when you had to wipe your feet as you left the stadium!

All I can say is I felt very proud to be British when our National Anthem was played at the end presentation - and I'm a Scot! :D

Good luck to all the boys for Saturday and here's hoping we have another chance to hold such a prestigious meeting at the Norfolk Arena!

I thought Kings Lynn held 8000 and rumour had it when we were leaving it was a sell out crowd, am glad I got there early as I don't think I would like to have been of those parked in the field opposite as it looked a nightmare to get out of, someone on facebook said it took them over an hour to get onto the road!!
