I don't see that GB start this as clear favourites, if it's slick with no grip etc then the Swedes and Roos will be a better betting proposition, purely onthe basis onbeing more consistant out of the gate, team GB only have Rico who can gate wit the best in the world!

Either way it has to be be better than yesterdays show, with Vojens likely to be as slick as yesterday tonightneeds to be something special!

Katajisto is out and Aarnio in for Finland. Good news for Team GB but will mean that Finland is down a few points...

Pity about that. I was hoping to see Katajisto ride. Hope the Finns put up a decent show.

I'd be really suprised if it's as slick as that given the clay base, ah let's hope that it's perfect for loads of raciiiiiinnnng ..............

Oh God! Not this argument again. It's GB. If a Scottish rider was good enough he'd be in the team. Andy Murray represents Britain so he's British. Stupid, pointless argument (which I have just rather stupidly and pointlessly become involved in).

So why not have a Scotland team in the competition ... I am sure they could beat the Finns in the qualifiers ... its was great when they had Jimmy Mac & George Hunter in the pairs ... surely they could put a top 8 team out?

If they did then I think it would be better. There always used to be a Scotland team back when they had the World Team Cup qualifiers at Reading in the 70s.

I think we all have more of a loyalty to our individual countries than we do to GB or the UK as a whole.

Fact is, though, that at the moment it's TeamGB so TeamGB it is.

WAS going to attend tonight but have pulled out as my regular driver is on timekeeping duties at the meeting and wanted to pick me up from here in Kent at 7.30am as he's got to be at track early. TOO early for me!:lol::lol:

I think this will be a good 3 way battle. Sweden should definitely not be dismissed, and Australia still look strong, even without Adams and Crump. I just hope the track is good and grippy so they can put on a good show.

Well said Grachan. But also lets extend this arguement further.

We have An English football team, a Scottish football team and a Welsh football team - Each Country is governed by a different 'Association' and run their own league and that is what gives them the right to being separate countries in the sport.

So if we are English then this would mean that Newport would need to find its own Welsh speedway league and Edinburgh and Glasgow would need to find more Scottish teams to race against.

If those who are adamant that this is Team England, then keep going and eventually you will get it, whilst at the same time you can say goodbye to Newport, Edinburgh and Glasgow to our BRITISH ENGLISH league.rolleyes.gif

Argument falls down on the fact there are a number of football clubs that play in a "foreign" league :rolleyes:It is though all pointless and crops up every year.It is TeamGB whether we like it or not.And the qualification is that any rider from GB can ride if selected. The fact that there are no Scots of Welsh good enough makes not one iota of difference.Let's change the record please people and just support the team picked :D Not that i like the idea of supporting a British team....yuk!

Yeah, but some of us do remember the world when we could see both England and Scotland on the International stage. That is the way i prefered the world......before all this talk of whether the iPhone4 is better that the 3gti or whether i should buy the HD Philips or wait for the 3D version to come out and what apps are good etc etc.Whatever happened to Bertola and his white boots and tartan leathers? The world was much better then.......Celtic used to beat Rangers more or is my memory playing up again :P:D
