Noodles
KING'S LYNN TICKETS Tickets for Event Two of the FIM PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna Speedway World Cup at King’s Lynn are still available and go on sale at the Norfolk Arena from noon on Monday. Grandstand seats are £35, while standing tickets are priced at £20 for adults and £10 for under-15s and OAPs. A family standing ticket for two adults and two under-15s is also available for £35 Err so if there is two adults going together it is cheaper to buy a family ticket and throw the kids tickets away?!?! (or even better sell them on - could sell them for kids or OAP's as the tickets just say U15/OAP) speedwaygp.com
speedway2011
I just cannot take to the name team gb, surely if it went back to england it would create better interest from the public and the media. I would like to see both scotland and the welsh bring a team together but it wont happen, even the english struggle to put out a half decent team because we dont have world class riders anymore thanks to the promotors of this country investing in overseas riders for the last 30+ years. noggin
Katajisto is out and Aarnio in for Finland. Good news for Team GB but will mean that Finland is down a few points... Why is it good news for Team GB ?

stevebrum
The big question is do we WANT to go straight to the Final or take a minor risk and settle for the race-off for practice I fully expect ENGLAND to win tomorrow (team gb my arse) ... because if we do not it WILL be because we WANT to go to the race-off And that just might be the right thing to do .... the Ruskies will not beat us around Vojens .... not a chance Hope your on the wind up ere!!!!! Very Shov like arrogance!!! Katajisto is out and Aarnio in for Finland. Good news for Team GB but will mean that Finland is down a few points... Yea, im sure the rest of the world were fearing the Finns Could be the first country to score 0 even at full strength. Pity about that. I was hoping to see Katajisto ride. Hope the Finns put up a decent show. Agree, was really looking forward to seeing how well he has progressed. Hence my thoughts of attending have now subsided. MattyHart
Yea, im sure the rest of the world were fearing the Finns Could be the first country to score 0 even at full strength. In what way does losing one of their original 5 and replacing him with a lesser rider, make them full strength?

Hence my thoughts of attending have now subsided. Ill take full advantage of my SKY HD subscription tonight I thought it was reasonably priced tonight.Got my tickets at the end of June costing £15 for an adult and £5 for a child. Is this the same as Birmingham charge for a Premier League match. But tonight you get 10 extra races. As for the Poles charging alot less, they have to as the salaries over there are nowhere near as good as ours. This is why there are so many Poles over here earning a living. Wolverine
Just love my country with a passion .... and its true, the Russians could not beat a weakend Danish team around a track tailor made for them ... they would have no chance at Vojens against the Danes and England ... so call it what you like I am no Engand knocker ... and never will be ... simples
RideHard
even the presenters, commentators and most of the riders say England more than they say GB. its just the way it is. come on England!
Daniel Smith
Well said Grachan. But also lets extend this arguement further. We have An English football team, a Scottish football team and a Welsh football team - Each Country is governed by a different 'Association' and run their own league and that is what gives them the right to being separate countries in the sport. So if we are English then this would mean that Newport would need to find its own Welsh speedway league and Edinburgh and Glasgow would need to find more Scottish teams to race against. If those who are adamant that this is Team England, then keep going and eventually you will get it, whilst at the same time you can say goodbye to Newport, Edinburgh and Glasgow to our BRITISH ENGLISH league. Cardiff & Swansea both play in the English Football League so there would be no need for separate federations for speedway

If anything the slick conditions should favour the Danes. You mention a "weakened" Danish team, but their loss of Nicki probably has less effect than the loss of Emil for the Russians. Cast your mind back 12 months and the Russians won the Vojens round. With a fully fit Emil I would give them a good chance of beating the Brits around Vojens. tellboy
yet there stadiums are state of the art - funny that Your point being? Their stadiums will be better as they have major crowds over there as it is their main sport. As i said there wages are alot lower to ours,so prices for events will be cheaper.I have a friend who i work with he is from Poland(and also a speedway fan).He seems to think Poland is as dear as Britain when you take the difference of wages into account. Ghostwalker
I made a spreadsheet with the riders from Swe, GB and Australia's teams tonight to see there performances in the different leagues. Anyway i made a picture of it: http://img248.images...ev2averages.png For some riders averages for the highest leagues was not available some for them i had to either find averages from earlier years or a lower league. * = a converted average from the Polish 1-liga ** = The GB average is from 2008 or 2009 *** = The Swe average is from 2008 Darcy ward's Swedish averge is his average from this years B.EL. The averages is calculated by taking points divided by meetings. The team average is the riders scores divided by amount of riders.

Would have been even cheaper if you had bought your tickets in advance. Edited July 26, 2010 by Noodles

Ill take full advantage of my SKY HD subscription tonight However if you'd been organised you could have got your ticket for fifteen quid before July 1st. Which for 25 SWC heats is very good value indeed, especially if you compare it to fifteen heats of league speedway in this country.
