Guest Speedway Chick
Just read on one of the speedway sites, that former Cradley Heathern, Bruce Penhall, will be making a come back next year Feb 15th, at Telford indoor ice speedway. Wow I would sure like to be there!!! Anybody else heard anything about this????
Lioness
There was a press release on it speedway chick on the yahoo site yesterday. Apparently he has agreed to ride in three races although oposition has yet to be confirmed. I believe its part of a bigger picture and there may be some 'an evening with....' type of events too. fatface
Great news. A full house must be guaranteed. Even 20 years on from his retirement, he is still a major attraction. Still makes me think he threw it all away though. If he had become the Hollywood Star he thought he would, do you think he'd bother coming to Telford? KevH
I'm sure if he'd stuck at Speedway he would have become a true legend - the guy had everything - Sky would have lurved him.
TonyMac
Great news about Bruce appearing at Telford. The sport has never fully recovered from his absence - he's badly missed in so many different ways. Anyone got any special memories of his racing days in the UK? And please don't cane him for the all-American 'fix' in the World Championship qualifier at White City. The man did so many other really good things for the sport that, only since he quit racing, have most people come to appreciate his true value. Gemini
.....he's badly missed in so many different ways. Films? By the way - I hope Steve Hone is banned from saying anything. I have some great memories of Bruce's riding and it was such a shame when he packed in at the height of his career. Have you looked at my webshots album as there are some black/white action photos of him on there.

shazzybird
Oh god no..... perish the thought of chasing Honey! Â Will give Honey a definate slap if he goes into his "alledgedly Mode". Honey like most of us was just a kid when these riders gave up, so he's going on speculation, which can be very damaging to people alledgedly or not. I just remember that whenever he came to Belle Vue (my hometrack at the time), it just seemed special. He genuinely was a superstar who everyone wanted to see. Tipsy_McStagger
Remember him being on Superstars, didn't do to well. Think he capsided in the canoe race . As a then Brummie fan i should have hated him, racing for Cradley and all that, but you couldn't deny that he had it all, the best in the business, and always seem to have time for the fans. It'll be great to see him back in action. By the way did he every appear in CHiPs, the was a lot of fuss about his acting career, but to be honest i've never seen him in anything. How about Sky taking him on as a presenter!!!!!.
Grachan
Yeah, he did a whole series of Chips, before advancing into the glamorous world of soft porn, normally playing people called Bruce.
