Polish League Rules

Recommended Posts

Thanks to internet many of you are watching Polish league. But not all know full rules. I'd like to show you them

To admins: Can I ask to stick this topic? Maybe we will put there rules from league of other countries?

Ekstraliga:

League system: 8 teams. 14 rounds (everyone against each other home and away). Top six into play-offs. There every pair (1st against 6th, 2-5, 3-4) ride two matches. Winners and best looser (at first the match points counts, then small points) to the semi-finals. Winners of semi-finals to the final, loosers to matches for bronze.

7th and 8th will face each other twice. Looser is relegated to 1st division, winner will face twice runner-up from 1st Division.

Match squad: 7 riders, 3 of them must be Polish, only 2 riders from GP in squad. Home team number 9-15, away 1-7. Numbers 6-7 (14-15) are U21 and one of them must be Polish.

Match: Heat format (page 10). In heat 15th are riding the best two riders of match of each team.

Rider number 7 (away) and 15 (home) is reserve. He can four times replace other riders as normal reserve. When team is loosing by six points then can use tactical reserve - any rider replace other, it gaves one another heat. Only rider 7 (15) can replace as tactical reserve rider 6 (14). If rider touch tape, can be replaced by rider 7 (15).

There is also rider replacement. If rider has 1 - 3rd average every other rider can replace him as RR. If rider has 4th average, only riders with 3rd,5th,6th and 7th can replace him. And if rider has 5th average riders 4th,6th and 7th can replace.

So rider can have: 5 normal rides + tactical substitution + rider replacement.

Soon lower leagues ;)

Thank you very much for this information. I have no idea why but i like the reserves going out in heat 1. The major thing i like is NO DOPEY DOUBLE POINTS! Just old-fashioned tactical subs. UK please take note! You have speedway as it used to be in the 50,s in England. Crowds, even for televised matches that British tracks can only dream of. Great stadiums and tracks you can race on. Which team do you support, so we can watch out for you? Also what is the cost to attend a meeting? At 16.00 pounds a head, no wonder crowds in England are so low. Thanks again and i hope the weather tomoorow in Prauge tomorrow and Poland on Sunday is not too wet. Regards. Alan.

I have just finished watching today's 2 matches. The first was FANTASTIC! Everything a speedway meeting should be (unless you are a Torun fan). What a comeback. I am very excited for my old team, the Bees. Pawlicki looks a great prospect. Without him, Gorzow would have lost today, despite Nicky and Thomas. The 2nd match wasn't so good, but that is how it goes sometimes. Wonderful Polish speedway and congratulations on Gollob's win yesterday in Prague. Thank you again for your help. Best Wishes. Alan.

Somethings I'd like to ask about the Polish system.

Why do they use 1-14? What's wrong with both sides wearing 1-7?

Plus, Do all riders have 4 programmed rides like here?

Not sure about the numbering, guess it's just to uniquely identify every rider in the match.

As for the race format, that was included in the links provided by Vicar.

Top 5 in each team have 4 programmed races.

6th man has 5.

7th man has 1.

The numbers are: 1-7 guest team riders, 9-15 home team riders.

4 programmed races exactly as HenryW wrote above.

Strange format to allow just 1 ride to the number 7. Have always wondered why the home team wears the 9-15, any paticular reason?

Thanks

Thanks Mama, looks like they could be at home on 29th then unless they suddenly improve when Emil returns, bit too risky to book flights yet though.

Though i have taken a risk and booked for Lodz on 26th Sept as top of div 2 are due to be at home that day and they look good for top spot, and if they dont Ostrow could be top and i should be able to reach that in time unless the meeting starts before 5pm.

Was only £42 return so i thought it worth the risk.Bydgoszcz flights are nearly £100 at present so a lot more to lose if they didn't race on that day, desperate to go though, was considering the silver helmet final, but midweek flights leave later and i'm unsure what time the meeting would start??Any info on this would be appreciated.
