Thanks for the info, as usual. Is there anyone who can post the teams for these matches and also the standings in the league at present? Thanks to internet streaming i have become a TOTAL fan of Polish speedway.( even when they order Pawlicki back to practice!) As you can see by the "name" i am an old Bees supporter- the 48 is the first year my dad took me to Brandon at the age of 4, but i have to admit that the Polish league is just terrific. I would be there to every meeting i could get to. I LOVE the passion of the fans and the splendid stadiums. I just wish i had one of the start line girls beside me here to translate! A good weekend in store- hopefully the weather gods are kind on both days. Regards from the USA. Alan

And the squads: CLICK HERE (7 in Częstochowa Woffinden or Bridger, 15 in Wrocław Janowski). But there is a question if the meeting will be held. There is flood in many parts of Poland, also in Wroclaw. Speedway is not lucky this season in Poland: rain, mourning due to president death, flood... We have end of May and some teams have only 3 matches held :P And this Sunday it will be 7th round!

I am wondering if everyone here knows the rules of Polish league: tactical reserves, U21 riders etc. It will be good to remind you this.

Thank you so much, both of you, for the links. Any info adds to the enjoyment of watching . Yes, the weather has been awful for you so far. Fingers crossed. Thanks again. Alan.

Wroclaw v Czestochowa has been cancelled because of the severe flood situation in the south of Poland. The stadium in Wroclaw is too close to one of channels linked with the Odra river.

//EDIT:

Leszno v Tarnow instead of the Wroclaw on telly this Sunday. If it was up to me, I'd choose ZG v Bydgoszcz though, this should be a better meeting.

Hope someone can help me. My girlfriend & I will be in Torun on Sunday afternoon, will I be able to buy tickets for the match at the stadium or is it likely to sell out in advance?

Also will the later match be on tv in some of the bars in Torun afterwards - any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks. :)

Wont sell out, less than half full when i went, holds 14,000,reckon will be lucky to get 7k.Tickets easy to buy on the day.

When we went it was the last match and they showed the 2 tv matches on the screen before, but no idea if they stay open after the meeting to show the later tv meetings?

Thanks, was a bit concerned, especially as Gollob & Pedersen are in town. Going to the GP in June so going this weekend to get my bearings around the new stadium. Went to the old Torun track a few years ago, I believe the new stadium is in the same area, a couple of miles outside the centre of town?

Good luck,the stadium is amazing!

good meeting for speedway fans, nikki and Gollob from very hard but fair to get extra points.A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS

1-Do the home side have to parade round after the meeting when they have lost?!!

2-What was Hans giving out to the crowd?,some kind of nice gesture by the home management to the fans to soften the blow of losing.Does that happen normally?

Passed the old stadium on the no.1 tram to the stadium, was sad in a way, memories of watching TRick, Gollob & Crump, as well as a raw promising 17 yr old Karol Zabik, memories of seeing the racing there are still quite fresh. The new stadium & track are fantastic, recommend it to anyone. Terrific match on Sunday - the grand prix there should be very special. At 32-22 to Torun it looked all over but credit to Gorzow with Pawlicki outstanding, Gollob commanding, Pedersen upsetting people as usual - inc Miedzinski, Ward and a whole lot of Torun fans (pantomime villain stuff in truth), and Zagar coming good at the end when needed.

Found a bar off the main square for the Leszno/Tarnow match, was never gonna live up to the first match though was it.

So back in a month's time for the GP, followed by Bydgoszcz/Wroclaw & some World Cup footy - can't wait!! :D
